  2. What are the candidates doing to rein in the federal gov't spending problem? I don't hear either discussing the impending doom.
  3. Spot on. I especially hate the default tip screen on the Toast registers that make you add an extra 20% when all they did was turn around and pour a coffee in a cup.
  4. Two levels of liberal 'justice' Biden Campaign Has a Very Revealing Response to Pro-Hamas Mob's Actions at White House On MSNBC's "The Sunday Show with Jonathan Capehart," Biden campaign senior spokeswoman Adrienne Elrod was served up a softball question from Capehart, who wondered about how the protests, which he claimed were merely "calling for a ceasefire" and demanding to halt aid to Israel, were "weighing on" the Biden campaign. That's interesting because, by my count, Biden and his administration have treated his critics abysmally, referring to anti-Biden/pro-Trump types as "MEGA MAGA extremists" who want to destroy the country. Among other things that counter the "Biden supports the right to protest" narrative was the Biden admin's attempts at siccing the FBI on concerned parents who were critical of far-left DEI policies being implemented in public school classrooms. Further, there were their admitted efforts at suppressing the free speech rights of Americans through Big Tech back channels during the COVID pandemic, which last I checked was not respectful in any way of the First Amendment. Lastly, this response is particularly fascinating when one considers that Joe Biden launched his campaign off of the Charlottesville "Unite the Right" rally. Biden issued a blanket condemnation of not just the tiki torchers but those there who were marching peacefully, and spoke nothing of free speech rights at the time he falsely claimed Trump stood in solidarity with white nationalists. And yet people who openly chanted support for Hamas terrorists Saturday and the murder of Jews and who also scuffled with police get no condemnation. We just get told that they have a First Amendment right to protest, and that Biden "supports" it. https://redstate.com/sister-toldjah/2024/06/10/biden-campaign-has-a-very-revealing-response-to-pro-hamas-mobs-actions-at-white-house-n2175291
  5. I don’t often quote myself, but we had a friend whose dad was the high school basketball coach way back when. She grew up with it, so it was natural to her. I noted that whenever he showed up at the gym, he always got respect. My son was on an AAU team with a kid who was a STAR, dunking in 8th grade and getting offers. Started in the ACC as a freshman. His dad was a local hoops hero, and a well liked teacher. I found myself in a gym with the father of my son’s AAU stud, and the father of our close friend. I tried to introduce them, but the dad stopped me with “I know him, this man saved my life.”
  6. I mean Hollins and Claypool I would say are hard to pin down. Hollins when given a big role and playing with Carr put up a pretty good season. Claypool started his career off with back-to-back seasons over 850 yards playing with the ghost of Big Ben as the WR3 before his immaturity derailed his career. Both are in the best situations of their career now with both an elite QB and opportunity to get on the field. MVS...meh, he is what he is. Claypool has undeniable talent and has starter potential...where Hollins is probably suited to be a role player who brings his most value in blocking and ST.
  7. I appreciate the comments my man. Apology is not necessary. You weren’t belligerent or rude. We’re just two fans expressing our opinions about the team we follow. It’s all good. Hope whatever got you upset is over with. Have a great day!
  8. It does sound a bit gimmicky but probably appreciated by the average service worker. True to brand.
  9. At all inclusive resorts, it's supposedly forbidden. You get much better service for throwing a few bucks tho and the staff are paid a pittance at most of these. Best solution would be to just pay everyone a living wage but we know that's not going happen. o this idea is great IF the workers get to keep their tips.
  10. TO ASK THE QUESTION IS TO ANSWER IT: Why is ‘Gender *****’ in the middle-school library? By Joanne Jacobs https://www.joannejacobs.com/post/why-is-gender-*****-in-the-middle-school-library .
  11. If the anti Ukraine stooges got out of their bubbles they'd see Russia is losing troops at a staggering rate. Defection is rampant. Yeah they'll keep throwing troops. Losing 1k troops multiple days in a week is not sustainable though.
  12. Gundlach has been saying this for a while now. Quite a while now. He's a Buffalo guy so I am inclined to give him a pass, but he's now looking like the personification of that old joke "economists have predicted 5 out of the last 3 recessions."
  13. Not a lock but I believe it will be heavily discussed. I see 3 RBs plus Gilliam and the 4th on PS. Extra DB is also a possibility, I agree.
  14. True, but it's bothering me that instead of America becoming like the rest of the world and eliminating tipping, much of the rest of the world is becoming more like America. Tipping used to be so unheard of in parts of Europe that the waiter/barman would assume you left money on the table by mistake and would try to give it back to you. Not anymore. It started innocently enough with the "leave the change (coins) on the table as a small token of appreciation ..."
  15. We haven't been discussing whether it's to much money or not, we've been talking the WRs on the roster relative to one another. I also do not agree with just about anything we do re: or offensive MO/strategy, you should know that, I'm among our biggest critics. But to think that we sign a bunch of WRs that have achieved nothing in this league, then sign Samuel for $23 M over three years with the thought of possibly cutting him, ... I honestly don't know what to say about anyone that would think that. IMO or strategy for stocking WRs on Allen's watch has been nearly criminal. While it may not be saying much, and whether or not I like it (I don't), Samuel's currently the second best WR on this team with a wide gap between him and #3.
  16. So on the same theme of "to know what a GM will do, look at what he has done" theme: Beane has typically kept more at a position when it is uncertain, or when there are a larger number of promising players who might get sniped by other teams. DE comes to mind. One unheralded look-out is: how do the Bills feel about the TE position? They had 3 last season. Does that change, especially if Brady is interested in 2 TE sets? How do they feel about Zach Davidson (on IR last season) or Tre McKitty? I can't get excited about either based on their pedigree, but the Bills may be keeping them around for a reason. I don't view it as a lock that the Bills keep 6 WR. I think the more likely position to gain an extra body count is RB and CB though.
  17. Curtis Samuel is number 34 on WR AAV list. When you consider all the #1 WRs still on rookie contracts that puts him nearer the 2nd half of WR 2 pay. $8M is not a lot and I'm betting he will be worth it playing with Josh. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/contracts/_/position/wr/sort/average/dir/desc
  18. When a couple of posters go head-to-head over a topic and both know they will never change the others point of view, it's foolish to keep it going thread after thread after thread. Let it go.
  19. There is only one Teef, and you sir are no Teef! You're more of a TWSS...
