Pretty good comparison. All i know is that I cannot recall an NFL team that has been as statistically dominant as the Bills in the early 2020's (compared to the rest of the NFL)...and not made a finals (Super Bowl) appearance. They even have some great playoff success,,, just can't get by one team when it matters most.

He gives off “Rudy” vibes. Who cares about talent when you can try hard? The Bills are the only organization, in the history of sports, that tried (and pretty successfully) convinced their fan base that it’s better to have 4 quarters than a dollar. The concept of “everybody eats” should have had people with pitchforks. Instead, it had a bunch of sheep defending it. “Why have 1 WR that’s fast, separates, good on contested catches, good hands, runs after the catch when you can have 4 guys that can each do one of those things?!? If you don’t have a guy that’s good at everything you don’t have to throw him the ball as much and other, lesser talents can get a turn.” 🤣🤣 That’s literally what they built and people are wearing shirts and hats supporting that. We don’t ever discuss it but why not apply that to other positions? We don’t need an elite pass rusher. We just need 1 guy with a quick first step, a different guy with great hands, and a 3rd guy with a good bull rush. They can all take turns and everyone eats. This season, so far, is way more frustrating to me than the drought. This team had a super easy schedule and its biggest competitors struggling early. They have Super Bowl aspirations and they look like an average football team. There is still a lot of time and guys coming back defensively. To this point though, it’s infuriating to watch them not take advantage of their greatest opportunity.

Josh Allen and stop them at an equal level as they stop Josh and hope your Defense can force a few field goals every game as opposed to a TD every time... but there really is no thought to the defense actually stopping anyone from moving the ball unless they get a turn over... this is the worst Bills defense I have seen in almost 50 years... there were some in the 70s that were pretty bad too...

It's a weird crossroads for me. I guess growing up and sporting I was always under the belief that coaches coached to win, refs reffed fairly, and the game was honest. Somewhere along the way I became jaded. Nothing was more egregious to me than when diabetic don the Eagles security guy started a physical alteration with players on the sideline getting involved with two players. As a result the opposing player was disciplined and removed from the game and Don was, too. Don bad no influence on the game but Don got to create a game changing event. At the same time no one is perfect so how can a ref be perfect? I can excuse some mistakes but games where the Chiefs are not called for a penalty at all? Or the falcons getting nothing for most of the game? Defenders of the shield say the Chiefs are called for penalties but fail to understand they're late in the game or not impactful the game. A false start on a 3rd and 12 in the 3q up 10 pt isn't important and isn't like a supposed illegal shift on a TD play in the first quarter.

I think the answer is "we're gonna find out" LOL... that said... In a world where Beane signs 72 middling DL every season and none of them pan out to the extent we hoped (palpable improvement on the DL) what makes us think these two are different... especially if they are now off whatever they were taking LOL... my guess, they dont move the needle... my hope, is ogunjobi doesnt eat into the playing time of Deone Walker he is literally the one bright revelation on this defense... I am fine if he eats into John McCargo's errr I mean TJ Sanders time when he comes back. Hoecht might be an interesting rotational piece, not sure you can rush the passer worse than our newly extended QB repellant Rousseau i cant see him overtaking him just because of the contract.... to spell him and Bosa, sure, probably gonna eat into Epinesa and Landon Jacksons time... lets hope he is a mild upgrade... If he is the second coming of Leonard Floyd or Jerry Hughes back in the day... Home run... but I am not betting on it.

Max Hairston to return to practice from IR
T master replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
IMHO I would think that he has been doing some kind of light running recently maybe not so much cutting or turning which he will need to get back up to speed that way but to think he hasn't done any type of drills I don't think would be part of the rehab . I believe in the very beginning he would have no running what so ever but at some point I would think the medical staff would have to have him on a leg or stair master type machines and doing some kind of light running drills to make a determination that he was ready to come back . But I only play a doctor on TV so I wouldn't know for sure 🤣 . -
What about their past 4 QBs who are doing really well or okay? Geno Smith Sam Darnold Joe Flacco Aaron Rodgers Lol

i dunno what happened but this kind of thing can get a player in deep doo doo. i swear the nfl likes the awful reffing as long as it leads to the bigger draw teams doing well/driving revenue.

Yeah, the Bills identity is essentially McDermott's personality at this point. I'd only add the Bills aren't innovative, stubbornly refuse to change, and go with what they know. See it in the coordinator picks, personnel decisions, the scheme, almost ever facet of the football side of that franchise. Something's gotta give.

I think it’s worth it. It’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, ref altercations every single year so that we can have fairly/professionally officiated games. That’s a prudent deal. It is rational.

You can always bet on it by how much $$$ they got paid. They'll be depth tier quality but on this roster of low results that could be a lot. I think this is true but an indictment of where our DL is at and how poor our defense is If both coordinators must go and it's almost there than the HC must go, imo. Not that it is fair.

Same. Kid is 10. But it's a lot to get him up there and a bit much at 10 according to everyone in the family. I was going. At 9 to Buffalo in the 90s and saw ...A LOT.

Not at all looking to move this to ppp tangent. But yes, body cams were called for because of oversight of police only to expose perps behaving bad. Body cams to watch players would prove refs are in the wrong and don't see or report fairly.

We're rolling in from Greenville, NC Saturday night. Going to hit STK for dinner and Tavern Sunday am. Part of me feels bad that their first game wont be in OP but it is what it is. I'm expecting a lot of red, white and blue.

Let us go back to training camp... if I remember correctly, he was not lighting it up... he hadn't even made it to a pre season game... the last competitive football game he played in was Dec/Jan of 2024/2025... McD does not like rookies who don't know the defense, he seemed to be in that category... and he also needs to get into football shape and demonstrate he has recovered from what seems to be a pretty serious although not ominous knee injury... he also as a bit of a history at being injured... this all adds up to me as his impact will be quite limited thru the next few weeks at least... he will more than likely in my opinion be given simplified tasks.. like cover Worthy... where he goes you go... (if he is even activated by then) what concerns me most is the tackling responsibilities that our DBs are forced to take on because our front 7 is pretty horrific... will he be able to do that as I don't think he is known as much of a tackler... AND stay healthy... what does this mean... I don't think we have seen the last of Tre at least for a significant while...
