Hey baby, want to party? How old are you?

There's no way her mother wasn't involved in some way. Whether she's on drugs and made her daughter do that, or she's displayed that type of behavior in the past in being a prostitute, or the child was molested... a kid just doesn't wake up in the morning and have that idea suddenly pop into their head. There has to be some influence coming from that home.

She got in the car, drove to the 700 block and THEN was charged?...Hmmmm

Why not make the arrest at the time she origanally solisited them?

Duhh.. they were going to Wegmans.

Actually, where she was picked up, is a known hooker area. They probably did not want to make the arrest in front of the other street walkers.

That makes sense. They gave streets and areas but didn't suggest that it was in a "red light" area.

If he was a decent man, he might have been giving the girl the chance to change her mind, or tell him a horrible story of how she was escaping an abusive step father, or something. Maybe he wouldn't have arrested her, but helped her, if she did something on the ride to change his mind.

(Not THAT, ya pervs.)

Arresting her gets the whole ball rolling on the investigation. JMO

No doubt. But he might have been able to get the ball rolling without it, had she given him a reason to believe she wasn't a hooker, really. i think the cop may have been giving her that chance. Possibly.

If it turns out her mother has something to do with it (which is probably what happened), the charge will certainly be dropped. An arrest probably helps a social service investigation, gives them a little more freedom.

They can bring her in and talk to her. They wouldn't be able to use the conversation in court but it would give them a lot of information on where to begin the investigation. It also sends a message to the person forcing her to do this to pull her off the street for awhile and hopefully that will give the police more time to build a case.

Exactly my thoughts too!

I imagine that, if they have some sort of ongoing vice operation in the area, they take the hookers elsewhere to arrest them, so as to not compromise their operation.
