Go Buffalo!!! Go away haters

Recommended Posts

Come on people. I have been a bills fan for 25 years and never wavered in my loyalty to this team. There is a lot to be said about Bills fans that have been through the highs and lows this team has offered. Now we are on to another year and I have never seen so much resentment toward our FO and team. This is OUR team people! If you don't like the Bills, then follow Peters to Philly. If you want a guaranteed playoff every year, then be a Patriot fan. Me, I want to be here when the Bills finally win a Super Bowl, so I can enjoy what it felt like to be a real fan of both Buffalo and Football

I agree

making the playoffs is way overrated.

let those other good teams waste their post-season chasing the Super Bowl

It's way more fun to be a Bills fan and watch with amazement how astute how front office is at dismantling the team but spinning it in such a masterful way that season tickets still get sold.

No other team has the privilege of promoting world peace by conducting playoff like games in Canada, especially when it is so hard to win in the NFL.

proud to be Bills fan

I have been a fan for 21 years and to hold your optimism or to boldy tell people like myself to find another team because I dont like what mine is doing is wrong. The Bills organization at this moment is baffeling. Talking about adding more games in Toronto- first I am an american not candian and second I am a bills fan not a hybrid fan I dont like sharing games in another contry in a neutral site tha gives us no advantage.

Then you get rid of your center/LG and star left tackle after building back up fan hope with the sigining of TO well who the hell is going to protect our injury prone QB rookies are you kidding me I am suppose to remain optimistic over that.

Now I am reading that dominc rhodes was told he was mstlikely going to be the starter during lynches suspension. What the hell is the franchise looking at? I would rather have Jackson starting over him which leads to the next question is jackson the next to be traded becuase we dont want to pay him what hes worth.

Now ontop of that we are trading away our top return man in the leaugue. Not that I am opposed to trading him but for a 5-6 round pick thats a freakin joke.

Kelsay needs to be traded never thought he should have been resigned in the first place.

Keeping DJ after going 0-6 in the division and not improving his team the last two months is another joke.

Realistically this team has, barring any decent trades and based on the current schedule current roster and ROOKIES comng on our team, the abilty to be worse than the last three years!!!

So just as you have a right to express your thoughts we have the right to express yours some will agree and some will disagree. The fact is this team that has complained about the lack of talent has done nothing outside of the TO to improve that talent except by stock piling draft picks whcih they have not been good at drafting the last decade as well as trading away their most talented players.

But I have come to the conclusion I have no expectaions for the upcoming season I still watch every game hoping this team can prove me wrong and then hop the next off season is different, The fact is until Ralph is gone this team in his twilight is never going to improve to be a top 12 team in this leaugue. I except it I dont understand but i except it.

The only way my loyality fails this team is when the fail me by putting more games in another county that is not my own!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely respect your argument, but I think Buffalo is not that far away. We have a quarterback and running back on the rise, 2 elite level wide receivers, a new center who is finally familiar with 3-4 defenses and Walker, Bell, Butler and Chambers who all combined gave up less sacks than Peters. Our defense is good and will be better with Schobel back and Mcargo finally motivated and McKelvin and Poz with a full year under their belts. We get a OT, DE and a TE in the draft, we are looking like a competative team IMO. I may be overly optimistic, but I would rather be that way then spend every off season upset.

Let's see, I began following the Bills after watching them lose to KC in the 1966 AFL championship (for the opportunity to play in the first NFL-AFL Championship, soon to be called the Superbowl thereafter). During this time, I saw Ralph make three meaningful attempts at building a great team capable of SB glory. First was when he hired Chcuk Knox, but his penny pinching ways (along with those of Stew Barber IIRC), ruined that rather quickly and Knox left. The second, more by luck than design, was when Polian was promoted to run things and Levy followed shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, Ralph fired Polian for reasons much speculated upon, but never publicly shared in any detail. The last, was when he turned to Tom Donohoe, and we all know how well that worked out, but at least this time the fault belonged to someone other than Ralph directly.

Now, all we have is is an owner who is biding his time till his tenure ends as the owner of the Buffalo Bills. Father time is is just around the corner for both Ralph and our beloved Buffalo Bills. I have strong doubts that Jim Kelly and his backers will be able to keep the Buffalo Bills alive in Buffalo.

One does weary with the perennial uncertainty that has become our Bills.

Well said. And how do you feel about our favorite team that we all love, being on this "wonderful" 9 years and counting playoffs-less run? Does that make you....happy? Lucky to be a Bills fan? Here's what I always say to fellow Bills' fans who take your stance: If I didn't love the Bills so much, I would not care to complain when they suck. Root for Philly or another team? Hey that would be easier. They have been a hell of lot more successful then the Bills over the last 10 years havent' they. Unfortunatley, I hate Philly and love the Bills. So I vent my opinions, good and bad, on these message boards.

And I will be here right here with you celebrating if the Bills ever do win a Super Bowl, even if you never utter a single negative word about them, and I continue to complain way too much. We are both passionate Bills fans.

You left out Lou Saban's second stint when he built the Electric Company who turned on the Juice in the early to mid 70's. When Wilson re-hired him in 1972, and I have no idea who the GM was at that time, Saban immediately began putting together a very talented young team, including some good players on defense as well as the best running offense in the NFL for that day.

I remember after the team lost in the Wild Card game to the Steelers in 1974, those players were really pumped about the next few years - they really felt they were at the beginning of something special. We all did. We had just opened our brand new stadium, and there was a lot of excitement in the air. And this was years before the Bills had a song to play after every TD.

But right away as the '75 season wore on, Wilson started his crap again. He refused to pay a few key veterans on both sides of the ball and instead traded them away. (Sound familiar??) By 1976 Saban had quit again, and on came another few years of some of the worst football in NFL history, before Knox came on board, and Buffalo "Had a Feelin, Talkin' Proud, Talkin' Proud."

Knox had a feelin' Wilson's spending was over early after the '82 season, and he bolted for Seattle. And then that fight between Polian and Wilson after he led Buffalo to three straight SB's, ended his record setting stint. Does anyone

want to bet that Polian was trying to convince Wilson to spend just a little more money in order to get that first damn SB WIN, and Wilson closed that bank vault once again??? None of us know, but Wilson does have that habit doesn't he?

Then Donahoe wasted Ralph's alottment of money, and now Wilson has decided he will spend his own money his own way. Thus no playoffs for these long 9 seasons.

Good point and addition....I guess I still bame Saban for leaving (since we're not the only team or organization he quit on),

yet Saban did bring respectability back until the penny pinching Wilson got involved.

Wow... 25 years. Let's see. you started being a "fan" around 1983 or 1984. Do you even know who Hank Bullough, Kay Stevenson and Harvey Johnson are? Your becoming a "fan" was just a couple years before respectability started and shortly thereafter led to the Super Bowl years. Try being a fan from the beginning of the franchise.

Wow... 25 years; that gives you the right to call out any fan that dares criticize this organization? Try sitting through the really rough years at the Rockpile. I have always been and will always be a BUFFALO Bills fan but reserve everyone's right to express there displeasure with this disfunctional organization. I am not a fan of the overrated Ralph Wilson but will never waver in my support of the city of Buffalo, the Buffalo Bills or the right to enjoy spirited discussions with either negative or positive fans.

If the fans of the Buffalo Bills irritate you, why don't you find another team?

If he became a fan in '83 or '84, of course he should remember Kay and Hank! Kay was going to be our "cool offensive wizard" - sort of like Bill Walsh east. Man, that spin would be right up there with the crap that comes out of One Bills Drive today, when you think about it! Hank was nothing more then a good DC that was a horrible joke of a Head Coach. You are right. If he became a fan then, he should have remembered vividly the two conseuctive 2-14 seasons, and should not be so forgiving, that's for sure!

I have been a die hard Bills fan for nearly 40 years and always will be. I consider myself as loyal as any other fan in the country, but that doesn't mean I have to put horse blinders on and ignore the incompetence of the organization over the past decade. Will I be there on gameday routing the Bills on, of course I will, with all my Bills garb on, screaming and jumping, making people think I am going crazy. Look at it this way, so if you have been married for 25 years, and then your wife or husband starts blowing money at casinos, drinking it away, doing drugs are you supposed just sit back and support them because you are loyal? HELL NO! By fans voicing themselves, it maybe the only way to get any word to the organization how upset Bills Nation is, and maybe force them to change. Go Bills!

Ah, good. Now that the Jason Peters issue is settled we can go back to our other off-season past time. We can set about to create arbitrary schisms between different subgroups of Bills fans and mindlessly assign blame to whichever group is not the one true card-carrying fan group.

It's simple really. Some fans want to see evidence and results. Without the truth, without any real evidence, all the conjecture, emphatic exclamations of certitude, and blind optimism in the world just doesn't matter. The Buffalo Bills are still the team we thought they were; a 7-9 team with a 9 year playoff drought, mired in mediocrity, in a very small and shrinking market, selling their home games to a foreign city, and led by a 90 year old owner, a marketing guy & a head coach who's had 7 losing seasons out of 8.
