For one game, someone went out and bought a bunch of Dolphins trading cards, pulled out the Bryan Cox cards, and put them in the urinals of every men's room in the stadium. To this day, I would love to know who came up with that idea. This anonymous Bills Fan, a true hero for all of us to to see, will always have a special place in my heart as a shining example of how to elegantly express the hatred we all feel toward all things Miami. The younger generation who doesnt view it as a big rivalry anymore is the driving force of the league. The 15-30 fan base is not capture by the rivalry. if we were to re-align into a division with steelers, browns and bengals it would intensify everything from leading up to the game, the tailgaiting and the game itself. it would make things so much more interesting Speak for yourself, fella. I was born in 1981, and have fully embraced the complete and utter hatred for those aqua wearing fruits. A rivalry is always a rivalry, it may intensify and calm in waves, but when it comes down to it, I still hate the friggin' fish. That being said, I see more of a rivalry also developing with the pats*. They have been on top too long, and the Bills are growing into the only team in the AFC East capable of providing them with a challenge for the division crown. The perpetual champion vs. the upstart young team always creates a bit of discontent for both parties involved. But in the meantime, SQUISH THE FISH! Send them crying to their mothers in there gay little aqua and orange fag rags. Not trying to hate, but those in the 15-30 crowd grew up in the 90s when the rivarly was still great, and they saw how pissed off their fathers and uncles and grandads got the week before we played them. I think the rivalry's still on, and it will only get better in the next few years. Everybody knows the Dolfaggots are going to be good, its just a matter of time. Parcells is a proven builder...maybe he can't win playoff games (certainly hasn't proved SB winners since the Giants) but he builds teams from the ground up. If he hadn't left Dallas, they'd probably be 7-0 right now and a good chance for the SB. But you watch, this rivalry will heat up again. Dolfags have a lot of promise in them...they're not supposed to be winning yet but they've showed a lot of promise, played hard, and showed some balls with the wildcat that has turned heads around the league. New England's sun is setting, and once Favre heads out of New Jersey, the Jeturds will be done once again. This rivalry will come back..you wait. Who knows, if they beat us this weekend, I'm sure on Monday EVERYONE on this board will be explaining how the rivalry is back and how much we hate em. And that Mr all-world coach was spanked regularly by Marv & Company. I'll never forget the sourpuss look on Shula's face during Marv's HOF induction ceremony. Shula was seated behind the podium, directly in camera view during the proceedings, and the whole time Shula looked like he just got a whiff of one of Tony Siragusa's farts. I have been exposed mainly to a domination of the Phins by the Bills and it is kind of hard to truly hate a team when you have been beating up on them routinely. The *Pats on the other hand not only have been beating the crap out of the Bills lately, but doing it by cheating and having a roster filled with thugs. Going to school in Boston only intensified my hatred as their fan-based is the most arrogant yet fair-weathered group I have ever seen. Dolphins meant more during the '90s, but the 'hate' has really faded since Shula and Marino left. The Patriots* are without question the team I hate the most... probably exacerbated by the fact that I saw the 56-10 drubbing in person last year. On the way into the ralph at drive 5 there was two guys standing on top of a Bills custom painted red truck. One holding a 40 inch salmon, the other lighting the quarter stick of dynamite that was in the salmons mouth. They launched the salmon from the top of the truck over the crowd walking into the causeway. It blew up about 5 feet above 1000's of people walking into the game. I was 60 yards away and get hit in the face and in my bag of peanuts with salmon guts. It was dangerous and stupid but very impressive. So the rivalry is still there. All you youngsters gotta look back at time when the Don ruled the division! The Bills never won a game during the 1970's against Shula. Finally in 1980 the bills beat the phins after 10 years of losing !!! Chuck Knox coached that team,also the fans tore the goal posts down to celebrate that victory! Moving the Bills away from the Dolphins,Jets,patriots would be a huge mistake. Mr.Ralph Wilson fought hard to keep the bills in the East and I for one am darn happy he did! I savor every win against our division foes. I didnt say there wasnt a rivalry. I said the rivalry isnt the same. Even some of the players admit there is nothing special about this game ANYMORE (their used to be). The more i think about that the more i think of how awesome that would be. The bills, browns and steelers have some of the most passionate and loyal fan bases and playing them 2x a year would be great Easy travel to all the away games!! I can fully understand the feelings of older bills fans who lived through the 0 for 70's, but it's time we caught up to the present. The Dolphins are a horrible team, who we've pretty much owned recently. The Jets are running on borrowed time. In a desperation move to boost revenue sales. That team is going nowhere. At least not with the Mangina coaching them The Pats are the echelon of who we will be measured up against now and in the future. Especially if Edwards continues to progress. Edwards vs Brady will be far more marketable from a league and fan perspective, then Edwards vs Pennington/Henne/John"OH NO!" Beck. It's great anytime you beat a divisional opponent. Especially when you can start to cement your status, by climbing the rung of the AFC elite. Make the playoffs that's the goal. I won't delude myself into thinking though that the dolphins are the team we must beat. It's been sickening the way we've been the Pats stepping stool. The Bills have gone into games against the Patriots knowing they have zero chance to come out with a win. The onfield results back this up. For the first time in years, we have a legit chance to catch up to them and offer a little pay back. There's not a game in the next 4 weeks that I wan't to see the Bills win more. I guess the rivalry losing it's luster has to do with neither team being good for the last 9-10 years. I guess teams have to be good to make it a rivalry I REALLY hope that the Bills and Dolphins are simultaneously dominant in the AFC at some point in the next 5-10 years. I'm getting sick of the Patriots and Colts being the "big rivalry". Remember the absolutely ridiculous hype their regular season game got last season? I'd like to see ESPN countdowns leading up to a Bills-Fins game on Monday Night. And I don't care if its blasphemous to wish that the Fins would do well, this is something that I want to see. I'm sorry if my "living in the past" does not live up to your standards of fandom. You're saying that the Bills-Fish rivalry is "not the same anymore," when you have no sense of what the rivalry actually "IS." I know you're the target audience for the NFL...it's proven in the ads I'm force-fed every Sunday.
