This insures they will need 2-3X the cops usually necessary because every kook in northern CA will be there. I have to work in SF Wednesdy afternoon, but at the other side of town from where the torch will be, thank god. Why in God's name do you think the citizens of the People's Republic of San Francisco are going to give the People's Republic of China's flame a hard time? Those Communist wanna-bes giving real Communists a hard time? Can't wait for the rationalizations of why human rights abuses are ok as long as socialists are doing them, since they are smarter than the rest of us anyway. In fact, I don't expect the people of SF to do much at all....and that's a shame. But who knows, maybe this time they will be able to see past their ideology far enough not to put themselves in another blatant state of hypocrisy. There's always hope... I got to see it, and actually hold one of the torches, when it came through Syracuse for the 2002 Winter Games. They did a big rally downtown when it arrived which I went to, and since they were staying overnight, they said where to go to see it off in the morning. Next morning, I went over, since it was a few blocks from where I worked. Not alot of people showed up, maybe 12-15 in all. The runner that was going to lead off that morning was waiting with his torch, and some people were taking pictures of it. He noticed them, and asked if they wanted to hold it. Hell when they have anti-war protests even teh free mumia people come out. They were going to publish the route Tuesday, but the protest groups pressured the idiot mayor to put it out last week. Gives them a lot more time to set up theier idiotic protest which do nothing but get people very mad at their cause because they F up the traffic even more, which is pretty F'd up on a normal day.
