AJ is the shrewdest GM out there. He has not made a bad trade and has exacted high compensation. Marv is very inexperienced as a GM. We had better not give up much for Turner.

I guess there was no other Turner thread where you could have posted this? :wallbash:

I hope we don't give up more than what we got for Willis but I also think that we might.

I'm sure ML is aware of AJ's prowess. Any deal Marv might make, rest assured, he'll feel it's fair. I'm confident he'll remain thoughtful throughout this process.

My thoughts exactly....!!! That should be the standard here, we used a 1st rounder to get an injured WM....

I tend to agree with you wholeheartedly. Since Marv has been GM, you may as well call him Marv "One Hour Martinizing" Levy because he has done nothing -- NOTHING -- but get taken to the cleaners on every single move he's made.

Great post. Keep up the good work.

Does anyone remember what we gave up for Corneilus Bennett in 1987? Marv and Co gave up our no. 1 in 1988 and 1989 and a 2nd in 1989 and Greg Bell. It worked out pretty good. Now I'm not say Turner is worth a Number 1 but I would be OK with swaping 1st or giving up a second if Marv thinks Turner is a difference maker.

Allowing Nate to avoid the franchise tag was a pretty dumb move and shows how inexperienced Marv is as a GM...

I too am worried that AJ Smith will take advantage of Marv's lack of experience as a front office executive.

All this buzz about Turner. If I'm SD, I know I have a loaded team, a stellar starting RB in Tomlison, a heck of a back-up in Turner.

So he leaves in '08. So what? I'm a legit SB candidate in '07. Shame on me if the seldom-injured LT does get nicked and I've dealt away Turner.

If I'm SD, I'm not giving away a player - an RFA not costing me a bundle - that can help my SB chances this coming season unless some dope wants to pay an outrageous price...

Are you really serious?

No, actually, the real problem is that when you hit 75, your cognitive functions are automatically reduced by 75% in order to maintain bowel functions and focus mental resources on proper shuffleboard technique. Marv is obviously in his 80's so I guess you can connect those dots....

Yes, he is.

I suspect I'm just a Bills homer, but I subscribed to and agreed with Marv's theory that -- knowing he was not going to keep Clements -- having a full camp reporting for the new regime was more important than having a franchised Lance Briggs or Asante Samuels publically pissing and moaning how poorly they're being treated by a franchise on the cusps of renewing efforts to get people to buy into their approach.

Sometimes you have to lose a little to keep the peace. Some people refuse to see and accept it, and that's okay.
