The description of that fourth down play against New England where apparrently EVERYONE on the offensive side of the ball missed their assignment was referred to as one of the worst plays in NFL history. All time bad plays! Humiliating. I guess I'd like to know if there has ever been another Bills play in its 45 year history that might compete with it. I've followed the Bills since 1960, have gone over some really awful years...and can't come up with one. Maybe there should be a plaque in Canton commemorating the play. What happened on that play was that Norwood slipped on the dirt that was called turf at old Municipal Stadium. His slip sent the extra point right into the middle of the Bills' line. The Bills had just scored to make it 34-30. The extra point, of course, would have made it much more likely that the Bills would have tried a field goal on that final drive. Harmon should have made the catch. In fact, I didn't see it live, because I had turned off the TV, fearing the worst. That's how much I was gripping during that final drive. I saw Harmon's drop on tape later (I still have that game on videotape). The next play, Clay Matthews made the interception that saved the game for the Browns. silvermike Posted October 13, 2004 Share Posted October 13, 2004 Wide Right was the most painful play in Bills history, but missing a 48-yard field goal isn't that high on the list of Blown Plays. Your best kickers aren't more than 50-50 on that kick. We shoulda been closer. Ronnie Harmon, also, was just a screw-up by one guy. It was a crucial play, but he's not the first or last guy to drop a touchdown pass. Marcus Robinson did it this weekend for example. He just happened to make up for it the next play. I mean, I've dropped TD passes in pickup games too. It happens. Which brings us to this one and Homerun Throwback. MCM was still a pretty impressive bit of playcalling, as painful as that is, and, of course, illegal anyway. Which brings us to last Sunday. FUBAR. What can I say?
