Two that come to mind that really cracked me up were: 1) Lisa and Marge go to clean up after an oil spill, leaving Homer and Bart at home, and Bart ends up working in the burlesque house. 2) Homer pledging $$ to PBS, and then having to fly to the island as a missionary. But back in the day, over 10 years ago, when The Simpsons was in its prime, it was unstoppable. Not only were those episodes hilarious but they've stood the test of time. I've probably seen all my favorite Simpsons episodes 25x each and I still love them. Family Guy is the funniest show on TV but who knows if it will stand the test of time? There were a couple Family Guy episodes that I saw once and I loved but haven't liked them as much when seeing them a 2nd and 3rd time on Adult Swim or TBS. American Dad is probably the least funny cartoon I've ever seen. Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Sealab 2021 are amazing. Futurama was better than The Simpsons even when it was on about 5 years ago. Simpsons has been on life support for a decade now. Best Simpsons episode: Monorail one Asteroid one ("Despite the fact that the bridge is out, many citizens are trying to jump it with their cars. It is a silent testiment to the "Never say die, never think things through" attitude of our town." - Artie's eye in the sky traffic helicopter) The one where Troy McClure marries Selma The episodes were any of the three kids are born ("Marge, you're as pretty as Princess Leia and as smart as Yoda.") The voiceover was: It all started at an emergency meeting for parents at the elementary school to discuss the misprinted school calenders that added an extra month to the year. Homer comes in out of the snow, looks at the calender on the wall that says "Smarch", and grumbles "Lousy Smarch weather..." Priceless. My favorite Simpsons episodes: Brush With Greatness -- the second season episode where Marge paints a portrait of Mr. Burns naked. Greatest closing line in history: Mr. Burns says to Marge: "Thanks for not making fun of my genitalia." Marge turns to Homer and says, "I thought I did." Colonel Homer -- where Homer is tempted to leave Marge for the country singer he's managing, Lurleen Lumpkin. The Monorail Episode -- we all know that one.
