The only thing missing is playing like a team. You don't need the best athletes or even the best at any position. If they play like a team, they'll win.

and if JP throws it within 10 yards of the receiver.

seriously, i agree. if JP settles in, we'll be somewhat okay. let's see what happens this week - could be a good start.

Point taken but we don't have the rare soft schedule that comes along once every 30 years, like we did in 2004.

We caught a lot of down teams playing their worst football of the year during that 6 game winning streak.

That was then. This is now.

Circle the wagons.

Another thing is that it wasn't such a "soft" schedule til after the season was over. If I remember correctly it was the 2nd or 3rd most difficult schedule in the league based on winning percentages.

Not really true. The Seahawks, for example, had won the previous week and three of their last four. The Rams had won the week before. The Jets were 6-1 when they lost to the Bills and had won the week before. The Cards had won the week before. The Bengals had lost the week before to the Pats by a TD but had won four of their last five before that. Even the Dolphins had won the previous week, and then two of the next three after. Only the pitiful Browns and 49ers were playing their worst ball and we beat them by 30 points.

I stand corrected. Seattle was an absolute POWERHOUSE and lost 38-9. The WR's must have dropped 12 passes that day . The Cards, Browns and Rams are known road warriors. Check their record.

SanFran won 2 games. The Fins won 4. Why didn't they beat us ? They were " hot " . Cinci had Carson Palmer out and the 2nd stringer looked like Losman against the Bucs. Heck, lets check their combined records on the year. How many of them won 9 games, like we did ?

They sure played their best football against us.

The situation is much different this year with our quarterback. But you're right, if they play like a team they can win. Playoffs? Well, at least it's not out of the question at this point.

Hey, all you said was they were playing their worst football of the season when they played us. I refuted that, and showed you why. They were playing their best football when they played us. I didn't say they didn't suck. :D

They did play their worst football games of the year, WHEN THEY PLAYED US. I wasn't alluding to their games prior to that. The one exception may have been the Dolphins, who did manage to score 32.
