Donahoe The Master Poker Player!!

Recommended Posts

He strikes again!!

ONLY....Donahoe could get a third rounder for a 26 year old runing back with a 1,400 yard season and a pro bowl visit on his resume!!!!

Believe me...Donahoe will use this third round pick to build the core of Super Bowl team that he is ever so slowly assembling....

Past Donahoe third round picks Donahoe has chosen since arriving in Buffalo?

2002- Coy Wire.....(could be cut this year)

2003- Angelo Crowell (special teams player)

2004- Tim Anderson( couldn't beat out Bannan for playing time)

2005 Kevin Everett ...tba

Our glory days are only moments away with Donahoe at the helm......

THIS IS THE FIFTH YEAR OF HIS GRAND REBUILDING SCHEME.....

WHAT A JOKE THAT SOME FANS ARE ACTUALLY DROOLING OVER THIS MOVE....WHAT A BUNCH OF DRONES !!!!!!!!!

Oh, was that sarcasm? I must say, it's original and fresh.

This is like the Mentos of threads.

Chronology of events:

1. Bills need a OL. Everyone yells for kenyatta walker. TD disappoints everyone, trades down in the first for Nate Clements and a second. Deals again and turns that second into Travis Henry. Read: Travis is free. Walker becomes a bust and Clements becomes a star.

2. Year one: Travis plays well, beats out Antawain Smith, Shawn Bryson, and Sammy Morris due to talent and/or injury.

3. Year two: Travis starts and plays very well. Rushes for 1400 yards. Bills look to have an emerging star at RB but he has limitations.

4. TD surprises everyone and drafts Willis McGahee #1 even though he has a RB and WM is injured. Says we didn't have anyone on the board worth #1 money and McGahee is a special talent.

5. Year three: McGahee is still recovering and cannot play. Travis gains 1300 yards and double digit TDs for the second year in a row and is named the teams offensive MVP.

Meanwhile, sometime in year three, on TH's request, TD renegotiates Travis's deal and signs him for an extra year on the (very) cheap.

6. Year four: McGahee is just about back. Travis starts and flops. McGahee steps in, finally healthy, and a star is born. Travis is relegated to the bench and his worth to the Bills is basically used up as he pouts.

7. TD wants to trade Travis and get the most for him, what the Bills feel he is worth. No one makes an offer. TD waits until one is made. TD takes the #3 pick just before training camp starts.

Snapshot of the chronology: TD gets Travis for free, gets three years of good production out of him. Has his successor (a clearly better player) emerging as a star. Trades Travis for #3 pick.

I'd say that is pretty good poker playing.

I'll give you credit for persistency, K-dog. I tired pretty quickly of the bashing and slamming of TD, Henry and the Bills. It is absolutely stunning to see how many people find fault with this trade, and just as quickly take idiotic shots at Henry.

"We could have had a FIRST for him!"

"He's a child molester!"

"He's a moron!"

"We should have just dumped him for nothing!"

Just stunning. But you keep it focused and honest, and I have yet to see anyone even remotely come close to proving anything you say as wrong. All they do is start thread after thread taking pot shots in the !@#$in' dark.

Great post that doesn't even take into account the fact that the McGahee pick was manufactured from the Peerless Price trade, and was pretty much "free".

Yes, he did. And didn't he just give Price away to Atlanta? And didn't he screw up by bringing in Spikes, and Fletcher, and McGahee, and Adams, and Evans, and Moorman....and..oooh...wait...here it comes, here it comes....wait for it...wait for it...here it comes...!!!

"BUT HE LOSES! WE'RE IN A PLAYOFF DROUGHT! ARIZONA IS BETTER-MANAGED THAN THE BILLS! SO HE MUST SUCK!"

Stick to the win/lose theory, dude, because that's all you've got in your bag of argumentative tricks, and even that one will fall to the wayside soon.

Have some more coffee.

I was staying on thread topic with 3rd round picks. Denney was packaged with a third round pick. This is draft history. Try to follow the bouncing ball.

Those free agent signings were great!

Regarding win/loss record, I don't consider that a theory or an augumentative

bag of tricks, I consider it football.

Bills Daily at > http://www.billsdaily.com/draft/2002/ < gave the link description of the trade for Denney and the described the Bills as giving up a 4th round pick to move 8 slots where they picked Denney rather than them giving up a 3rd and a 2nd merely to move up to pick him.

2. Smith was cut before the 2001 season (and before the draft if memory serves correctly).

5. Looking at Bledsoe's numbers that year, and therefore the stats our WRs compiled, the only other option at offensive MVP was Mooreman

If he's sucha great poker player, why isn't he in the WSOP :P
