The buyout is two-third's of a players salary AFTER you apply the 24% rollback, right?

(I can't believe I even care.)

Correct, but you must buy out the entire contract. Yashin would cost the Islanders $28M , so do not look just at the next years salary, but for how long the contract is for

Lots of crappy ex-Sabres on that list. Anyways, look for the Sabres to be interested in:

Adam Foote

Simon Gagne

Scott Niedermayer

and also bringing Zhitnik back

Tampa Bay already has said they want Andreychuck back.

Do not be surprised if Mike Peca is back in a Sabres uniform as well.

Realistically, if I could sign three of these guys for the Sabres I would like it to be from this list of six guys...

Adam Foote

Bill Guerin

Adam Deadmarsh

Brian Rafalski

Bryan Smolinski

Doug Weight

I think they can fit in well with the Sabs

I'd love to see Weight centering a line with Vanek and Satan. That sounds pretty dangerous to me.

Here is a great link to all player salaries by team, what they will be rolled back to for 05-06, along with what players are RFA's and UFA's....

Wow, some of these teams are really screwed. At least some of the high revenue teams can use some of their revenue to buy out players, but their will be tons of dead money to teams.

Some name players are going to have to learn to live with $1 million a year or so if they still want a job. There just won't be that much money to go around. Additionally, each player will have 15% of their pay put into escrow until total revenues are know at year end.

Maybe after each game, they will give the players a few minutes to rush outside and panhandle the fans as they leave. :D
