Mikie2times Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago We are playing at a level in the 2nd half that would make us the best defense in football over the last 5 games. In the same period we have allowed 92 1st half points, which would be among the worst in football.  This trend only seems to be growing more noticeable. Pretty wild variance in performance by the defense. Quote
sullim4 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Above anything else, I hope the coaching staff is focused on the first half issues and sorts them out. Whether that be problems with game planning, practices, effort, or whatever… something needs to be done about it.  This is not going to cut it come January. We can’t count on Allen orchestrating 21 point comebacks every week. 1 Quote
GunnerBill Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago It hasn't been a single issue either.  In Houston, for example, the gameplan was fine, the playcalling was largely fine but the effort and the tackling in particular was embarrassing.  Today they were totally outschemed and out coached first half but the players were playing hard and making tackles.  It is bizarre to have such a difference.. 1 Quote
Ya Digg? Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Wow, that took a really long time to figure out what the title of this thread was  Thought I was looking at an eye chart 2 Quote

I can’t make sense out of it. I mean, New England was out of the bye so I imagine they had some wrinkles. But it’s not just this game and we are straight up dominating second half’s. The rush is getting home, lots of three and outs, no running game. Some of the best defense in the McD era. First half is literally the complete opposite. Quote
buffalo2218 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Hmm, one would wonder, is Babich calling plays in the first half and McDermott takes over in the second half? Quote

THIS 👆👆👆 would explain a lot!  It also should be WHY, Bobby B gets shown the door before next season  He's nowhere NEAR McDermott in his play calling IMO. Doesn't script strong, doesn’t interpret what he's seeing, and DOES NOT MAKE THE NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS!!!!  Perhaps McD should hire a gameday manager so he can focus on calling the defense Quote
Bills14221 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago When McDermott was giving the start of the 2nd half interview with CBS, he had the play sheet in his hand and then in shots the rest of the game. Â That was absent in the first half. Â Time to pull the cord on Babich. Â 1 Quote
Alphadawg7 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago My view is what I’ve been saying - right now everyone is fired, full regime change.  But they all have a chance to earn their jobs back by winning a SB.  This tendency to be Jeckyl and Hyde different parts of the game is way too common place.  I’m over it.  I think McD and Beane are both good, even very good at their jobs.  But at some point you gotta try something different if it’s not working.  Now I don’t believe Pegulas are thinking this way, but it’s how I would if I had a $6B asset about to enter the back side of a quarter Billion dollar QBs career and a new stadium charging massively more for PSL’s and tickets. 1 Quote
fergie's ire Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The second half defense is wild. There was the one run...which was on a play the Bills COMPLETELY blew up. There were a bunch of Bills yards up field at the point of attack...but somebody blew contain. Anyway, the longest drive outside of that was a 23 yard drive after the good kick return. The drive that ended with Tre's interception. The rest were 5 yards and less.
