For all the cynicism expressed here about the Burns documentary, no one has given any evidence showing why it is not accurate. How do you all learn about history? Is there a better producer who explains American history?

I learned about American history when I went school and took classes about American history.   I understand that history is written by the victors, that times change, opinions shift, new evidence can uncovered, people lie now, people lied then.  I have no beef with a Ken Burns scripted version of history, with understanding it may be wholly or partially accurate, but do not feel compelled to accept his version at face value without question.  A good storyteller can tell a good story. 
 

We live in a time when we cannot find consensus on important historical events that happened just a few years ago, where words and actions are interpreted or misinterpreted for political gain and to tip the scales of power.  Like him, hate him, but the amount of material we have access to simply because Trump was elected v Harris most definitely impacts how history will be defined, at least until the next version evolves.   Cynicism is a good thing, after all, doesn’t that bring us a Ken Burns in the first place?
