Italian Bills Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago So, we’re in a pretty clear situation, at least from my point of view: we have a QB who, if he’s not the best in the league, is among the top three; we have a top-5 running back, but we have no talented wide receivers. Our offensive line was completely overwhelmed last night, giving up 8 sacks. Our defensive line can’t stop the run, our secondary is mediocre, and our OC is terrible… and we have a head coach who probably should have been replaced a couple of years ago. That’s what 90% of the fans are saying. So the questions are: Why are people surprised by certain results? How can anyone even think that we could make it—not even win, but just reach the Super Bowl? Let’s make peace with reality and stop having big expectations. Let’s just take whatever comes without being surprised. Quote
Goin Breakdown Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago The problem IS that no one is surprised. I'm not surprised that no coaching changes are or will be made. I'm not surprised by the injuries. I'm not surprised that Beane and McD don't go out and get quality time proven coordinators. I'm not surprised at all that they want "yes men". Play calling is crap. Money spending is crap. It's a mess. What I am surprised by is that we have a winning record. Mostly because of Josh. 3 1 Quote
wnyguy Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Is it okay to be disappointed? They made Houstons defense look like the 85 Bears and the 2000 Ravens all rolled into one. It comes down to coaching, it doesn't matter who your QB is, blocking and tackling wins football games. 1 Quote

He (Josh) is his own worst enemy, in a way He brings the teams wins above expectation to his detriment IMO That is, this is a sub .500 team (talent + coaching) that he brings up to a perennial playoff team, which doesn't allow for adequate talent acquisition via earlier in the rounds draft picks. Buf has drafted in the mid to high 20s with Josh at the QB position when the "talent" around him (and coaching) appears to be, more around pick 12 to 15 That's why we're waxing over the musings of a WR like Keon Coleman vs [insert top 15 talent level WR].... Josh earns MORE than just his paycheck IMO. Beane/McDermott/Brady/Babich should ALL be saying his name FIRST, for things they're most thankful for, at their respective Thanksgiving tables 😃 🦃 1 2 1 Quote
Big Turk Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) It's just a continuation of the 13-11 pattern we have been in for the last 5 years 13 wins and looking unstoppable most games during one season followed by 11 wins the next season with lots of struggles along the way. Then back to 13 the next year. But come playoff time, none of it seems to matter, they kick into gear. Edited 2 hours ago by Big Turk Quote

Eagles went to the SB, gave up too many points and went and got Fangio. Went back and won it. Meanwhile Babich and Brady try to figure out how to not trip over their own shoelaces whilst 17 gets beaten out of his prime 1 minute ago, Big Turk said: But come playoff time, none of it seems to matter, they kick into gear. Do you feel confident / hopeful this is also the case this year? I used to feel the same, but this seems different. 1 Quote

In the 13 seconds season, Allen has the best 2 playoff games combined in NFL history in one post-season. The weeks before that were bad a lot of the time and they really struggled offensively a lot. 1 Quote
GolfandBills Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago The brand has gone stale. Beane has mismanaged this roster criminally. It’s painfully obvious him and McDermott aren’t the ones to get this team a championship Quote

If we get there, they need to get their heads out their ass to even find out if this is true or not Quote
frostbitmic Posted 40 minutes ago Posted 40 minutes ago Josh last night to Trubisky - "what are we even doing" ... Says it all. Quote
Success Posted 32 minutes ago Posted 32 minutes ago Seems like the wheels are falling off. All of a sudden, we are in a situation where it seems like a rebuild is in order, and not a typical retool. I'm usually pretty hopeful, but that took a big hit yesterday. I realized that we're just another team - we can't reel off a couple of TD's in a quarter easily if we need it anymore. We're not explosive on offense, and have one of the most vanilla/soft defenses I think I've ever seen in Buffalo. There is no quick fix. Other teams are starting to move past us as they ascend, and while we're regressing. The reality is starting to hit: we might not get a title w/ Allen. Quote
