I think they were hoping that Josh could be like Tom Brady and turn chicken 💩 into chicken salad at WR.

Josh did a lot with what little he was given last year, but it's definitely not the case here.

Beane & McDermott thought they could give it short shrift again and spend resources in other areas for the bend and break defense. [<= I said what I said.]

Beane got testy on the radio in the spring because sometimes the truth hurts.

The NFL is about offense and they let it slide while turning their entire attention to defense with ZERO improvement there (actually, it's a couple-few ticks worse than last year which... is saying something. McD doubled down on his scheme of undersized & always hurt LBs / "big nickel" and now jus'about every running back is running us roughshod, not just Derrick Henry.

Should they pay the price for sticking with & investing even more in an awful D scheme and wasting an entire year of Josh? IMO, yes.

If Gabe stays healthy I think he probably sticks. There won't be any demand for him this time so should come cheap.

Gabe Palmer Shakir and Shavers as either PS or WR6 again. So yea, we'll need two new WRs including a WR1.

Josh's contract escalates pretty quickly next season, and we have mediocre draft capital to use, so not sure we are going to get Chase and Higgins type players in the draft, which is what we need.

Also need some pretty serious speed upgrades in the defensive backfield and some beef in the LB corps.

I know Beane has a zero tolerance policy for receivers displaying athleticism or separation (youre welcome New England) but seeing the total lack of energy and emotion Josh has played with this year, his age and pretty new movie star wife, I cannot shake the thought that a request for a trade is in the near future. Something that gets him closer to home and finally gets him some kind of help on the outside. Beane and this organization have created the new road map to burnout of a once in a generation talent.

What are we gonna trade Keon for? A sack of potatos?

Potatoes.

Mistakes like that can really screw with a fellow's reputation!  See 'Quayle, Dan'.
The really gourmet ones.

There are some interesting guys who will be in the draft. The couple guys I would really want, will be gone long before we will pick. Jordyn Tyson and Carnell Tate are those guys. You also have some intriguing prospects in David Bell from Louisville and Denzell Boston from Washington. I like Bell better of the two. He is big, runs a decent route tree, and he's got an extra gear to leave defenders in the dust. You also have Chris Brazell of Tennessee and KC Concepcion at Texas A&M. I like Concepcion, and think he will be there when we pick. He plays inside or outside and shakes defenders all the same. Even with a mid college QB, he's still putting up solid numbers in the SEC. If you have a good offensive mind who can get him in space, he's gonna do some damage. There are options this year, but it's top heavy. By round 3, most people worth drafting at the position will be gone. Not sure where Chase Roberts from BYU will fall. I think it will depend on his Combine performance, but he seems to have good spacial awareness and knows how to leverage defenders. He might be worth a 4th or 5th. 2027 is going to be the draft for WR's with Jeremiah Smith, Ryan Williams, and Cam Coleman.

I'm assuming Palmer will be the only holdover next season.

It is hard to believe a position overhaul like that would ever be needed on a team with Super Bowl aspirations that has an MVP QB.

I'm not a Beane basher, he has made a lot of great picks, but the neglect of the WR position is certainly a curious decision on his part.

I'd bet we will see WR's drafted next draft on the level that DL were drafted in last years draft.

You are being VERY charitable!

Beane failed by total neglect… deliberately, because he told us he was the smartest in EVERY room.

It’s another wasted year for the greatest player the Bills have ever had!
