Davis Matthew Webb (born January 22, 1995) is an American professional football coach and former quarterback who is the Offensive Pass Game Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). He played his first three seasons of college football for the Texas Tech Red Raiders and then the California Golden Bears, before being selected by the New York Giants in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft. In his seven seasons in the NFL, he was a member of all three franchises representing cities in New York, spending the most time with the Buffalo Bills.

 

On February 23, 2023, Webb was hired by the Denver Broncos as their quarterbacks coach under head coach Sean Payton. Webb had expressed interest in transitioning to coaching duties, having been previously asked by the Bills to be their quarterbacks coach.

Prior to the 2025 season, Webb was promoted to the position of offensive pass game coordinator following the departure of John Morton to the Detroit Lions. He retained his position as the quarterbacks coach, holding both roles simultaneously.

 

Here's the guy who should be near the top of the list... he and Alex Tanney. And who thinks that these guys wouldn't jump at the chance to coach Josh Allen?

Wouldn’t mind any of those combinations. Think if we are going to have any changes in the coordinator departments it’s only the OC due to Brady getting a job elsewhere; college or the league.
 

Babich strikes me as a guy that will hang around given his fathers ties to McD for those 5 seasons.

Faced with a fan and media mutiny, that might change... no? I think McDermott has tried to change though I don't know what degree of change he's actually capable of.

 

For instance, would McDermott be capable of approaching Brian Daboll this offseason and saying, "Hey it didn't work out the first time as well as it could have. I need you and you need me. Let's see if we can lay down some ground rules and try this again."

I love the idea of these guys because I believe the organization lacks enough guys like Fitz and Kyle who aren't afraid to speak up when things need to be said. But the Bills are a very conservative organization, top to bottom. I don't think it's realistic.

 

I think if you go back and listen to what McDermott has been saying the last 3 years or so you'll probably agree that this is ultimately the kind of offense he's been trying to create. Beane has been shopping accordingly. 

 

It's not an accident that we've arrived here. It may not look exactly how they drew it up but make no mistake it's by design

That may or may not be the case but let's just say that it is the case.

 

Now we can move onto the question of whether McDermott can change his stripes when faced with the fallout of clear and public offensive failure...

 

1) He's not stupid

2) He probably cares to preserve his job

 

Do people really think he'll stick to his guns in this scenario?
