The Ryman was the home of the original Grand Ole Opry downtown going back to the 40’s. They moved from downtown in 1974 to northeast of town and it is now located by the Gaylord Opryland Resort. Both venues are still very cool, and they needed more room for all there is going on. We’ve stayed at that hotel, and it’s super cool, and enormous! The resort has a crazy water park only available to hotel guests. The resort interior has canals with gondola rides and New Orleans style sections of rooms looking out onto lush atrium gardens. I recommend it for lunch if just to see it for people who have the time. 

 

And that concludes our little history lesson.

I went to the show.Vocals were shaky. The show and song selection was amazing. In 300 years when they uncover the Beatles catalog it will start another Beatles revolution.  When they uncover Guns and Roses they will toss it in the garbage.

Lanyard Skynard has 0 number one hits. The Stones have 8 . The Beatles have 20.

Well I think you're just talking chart ability which is basically ability to make pop hits 

 

Like a Taylor Swift effect... Even though the Beatles are terrific all timers .. the stones are right there lol they just didn't make as much pop music consistently 

 

Bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and the rolling Stones make music that  is timeless.. the charts reflect certain demographics more always has

 

 Stevie Ray Vaughan is one of the best musicians ever and he doesn't have the chart toppers like the Beatles.. but he is single-handedly one of the best musicians

I saw Sir Paul in 2003 or so. The highlight of the show for me was his drummer, Abraham Laboriel Jr. son of jazz bass player extraordinaire Abraham Laboriel.  He's A really good player and fun to watch.  Checked Sir Paul's website and he's still in the band.  Have fun.

Fun movie for Beatles fans imo. Kind of in that theme about the Beatles being “rediscovered”. Loaded with Beatle songs, guy does a surprisingly good job singing them. Lots of clips of him singing them on YouTube.

Yeah, it was a great. I kind of enjoy vocal imperfections. The wife drags me to country shows where I hear pitch perfect vocals (lip sync, auto tuned vocals) but real performers never hit all the notes. I thought McCartney sounded great, there’s just a few songs that are challenge for him now. He sounded great on a few of the acoustic tunes.

I love the Stones, as I’ve always been a rock guy. I’m actually more likely to listen to the Stones than the Beatles. However, decades from now, the Beatles will be a in a different stratosphere. I think there’s more that appeals to the average person/music fan. The Stones were meant to be rough around the edges, and I think the rock sound will be considered a relic. The Beatles explored more musical styles, and I think the lyrics will hold up better, as they extend beyond drugs, partying, and heartbreak. Classes are already taught about the Beatles music and lyrics, this doesn’t happen with the Stones.

Did you ever think that's because the Beatles were short-lived? And people hold on to what they can't have 

 

The rolling Stones haven't stopped playing in 60 years 

 

But Tom Brady's the greatest because he never stopped and was always great that's the rolling Stones 

 

FYI they're also is rolling Stones college courses lol at good schools like the University at Rochester 

 

I like both always been a massive fan.. Beatles definitely experimented more... But they were a band that attracted teenage girls around the world 

 

You can go to their concerts and not hear them because girls would practice screaming for the concert 

 

That is why they have the demographic and all the number one hits because they had the pop music down... Rock and roll.. I think the rolling Stones are right there

Yeah, I think a lot of people consider the Beatles one of the few bands to quit at the right time. Longevity is a strange beast in rock/pop. These artists earn a lot of money, but it doesn’t seem to increase GOAT status. The Stones are a good example, I really enjoy some of their recent albums, but the average fan probably couldn’t name a song less than 35 years old, at least. I’m more of bluesy rock fan as well, but I can’t help but believe you’re going to hear songs like Yesterday and In My Life years from now more than anything else from the rock era.

My wife was friends with a lady who is married to a very well known rock musician. We’d have dinner at their place, and he’d have multiple R&R HOF people there joining us a different times. He’s a British guy who made his money doing the loud rock stuff I was never into. What does he listen to at home?  Usually The Beatles.

When future historians are chronicling the greatness of the rock’n’roll music era, the conversation won’t get much further than The Beatles and Elvis. The Rolling Stones will be thrown in some for their bad boy reputation and longevity.

 

I should add that Michael Jackson merits to be in the discussion too.

 

The rest are pretty much footnotes.

I saw that when it came out in theaters. Definitely a must see for people tired of the same old Hollywood remakes/reboots.
