zow2 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago This thread reminds me of the age old NFL saying. “It’s not who you play… but when you play them”. This is a great weekend to play Cincinnati. Even if Burrow played, he won’t be in mid season form, and no Chase. Look at the Falcons injury report. It’s huge. Too bad the Bills didn’t get them this Monday night instead of when London and Penix were around. Take the Saints this weekend. 1 Quote
sven233 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) This is such an interesting situation to follow over the next few days. On one hand, he wasn't slated to return until at least next week, of not the week after. And, it probably would be rushing him back with only 1 week of full practice with some limited practice time last week. However, the situation they're in with their record in the standings is on life support. Their record is terrible, so the only way they are getting in is to probably win the division which they almost (not quite, probably) have to run the table to do. But they are only 2 games out of the the division and with the teams they still have left to play, if they win the right ones, the could possibly steal the division. However, they are hanging off the edge of the cliff so to speak....... If they rush him back to play this week, you are taking a chance of a setback or something worse. However, if they choose to sit him and they lose to the Pats*, the chances of even winning the division take a huge hit of the teams ahead of them win. The thing is, if Allen were in this situation, I don't think there is a force of nature that would keep him off the field and leaving it all out there no matter what the repercussions would be. And I think as fans, we would be in full support of it. However, their offensive line is absolute trash and their defense is somehow worse than ours. What are the chances they truly overtake that division even if they do win this week? My money is and has been on the Ravens all along. Nothing is going to change that. They are simply the best team in that division regardless of what their record shows and their schedule overall is favorable in my opinion. I just don't believe in the Steelers ability to hold them off. And the Ravens are just flat out better than the Bengals as a complete team. Are the Bengals really going to win both matchups with the Ravens and make up ground during the other remaining games? Just a tremendous long shot. But, that's why I said earlier, this is fascinating to watch this week. Are they going to maybe do the safe thing and keep him off the field and most likely take an L to the Pats* that basically ends their chances at the division before he even steps back on the field? Or, are they going to chance it, while still having a pretty good chance at losing Sunday even if he plays? I mean, we already know even if he plays, Chase won't be there to bail him out if needed. And, after sitting virtually the entire season, would he even provide them the best chance of winning the game with the rust he might be playing with. Honestly, I think the Pats* beat them regardless of whether he plays or not, but man.....the fun drama and chatter it would create heading into the game would be great regardless. Very true, but I’m not sure I’d love to be the team playing the Bengals, even without Chase, on the day Burrow comes back at Paycor Stadium with the team knowing they need 7-0 maybeeee 6-1 to win the division. That place will be electric if he plays. Huge game for us, honestly, because we can end their playoff hopes in a few weeks and in the meantime have them take down NE and BAL. If they somehow beat NE, that Thanksgiving game is going to be wild. Edited 1 hour ago by SCBills Quote
BillytheKid Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I’m not scared of the Bengals at all with Burrow. He isn’t going to score anymore than what Flacco helped them score a couple of times. Which was in the 40’s. So who cares. Their defense is worse than the Bills defense. Josh might throw for 600 yards on them if Brady allows it. Quote
