That showed from 2021-2025, Buffalo used 12.4% of their draft value (or 779 points) on WRs. KC used 1,463 points during that same period including traded picks. Assuming a similar amount of draft capital, KC would be around 23% used at WR. The difference with KC is they're continually building the position with younger more highly regarded players whereas Buffalo does not. The Bills are content to draft one guy and just assume he'll perform and while it's still early with Coleman, issue remains doing this with Josh is odd. I've believed the Bills don't invest in WRs because they're not confident in their draft evals, but they prefer to go with what they know as evidenced by the 29.4% on DL and 23.1% on secondary they've used of their draft capital from 2021-25. Both teams keep investing more resources into WR (Chiefs) and DL (Bills) because BOTH positions are important and BOTH teams haven't successfully gotten the value they expected from their earlier picks at that position. Our DL draft picks have underwhelmed, so we had to continually invest in them to the point of literally spending our 2, 3 and 4th round picks this year to try and get quality young players at the position. If our DL was kicking buttox, we would not have used all those picks on DL. If KC's WR were also doing well, they would not keep drafting so many of them with high picks. 1 2 Quote

I thought it was interesting how people knock our WR investment, including myself, yet here we are, signifgantly better positioned than KC, our nemesis, who invests heavily into the position. That was it man. No greater thoughts. No desire to be overly specific. Clearly some people have that desire. It was just my god, KC is a dumpster fire at WR nearly every time I see them and we aren't. Within that context, one where I'm being complimentary to the Bills, why in gods name do you think I omitted information intentionally to make us look worse? This doesn't really matter and like I said I would just prefer to drop this outright. Dropped. Love you man! Sorry I took it this far and about my allegations. I just couldn’t comprehend why the 2020 wouldn’t be included in the conversation. I also didn’t read the first couple pages in depth. If the reason is because you just wanted to get the conversation started and didn’t want to invest even more time in discussing trades and such- I get it. Time is all we have- don’t waste it. 1 Quote

Buffalo716 Posted September 18 Posted September 18 The difference is the bills have kept Josh Allen upright With bookend tackles Even the best corners can't cover NFL wide receivers for four or five seconds... And Josh has the ability to do that with the line and his escapability The Chiefs have not developed tackles with mahomes which has stunted the offense 2 Quote

We had 7 defensive players on the injury repr and we lose by three without our best safety and corner I have a bet right now with my buddy in Kansas City... I don't think Patrick mahomes will win one more super bowl and josh Allen will at least get the bills 1 And I got 5,000 on this long-term bet and I truly believe it.. Patrick mahomes arrow pointing down Josh Allen's been pointing up for 5 years Edited September 18 by Buffalo716 2 1 Quote

I think we were one Von Miller torn acl from 1-3 super bowls. 2 Benford injuries and Tre whites acl from solidifying that. Matt Milano breaks two years in a row after becoming 1st team all pro. Literally losing our best players on D. Bad luck. ballsy bet. I think you could be right looking at the state of the chiefs current OL and the way Mahomes has been playing (clearly not as good as Josh). Reid and Spags are still the wild card imo. If they can make an adjustment or 2 on the OL that can get them to average, I think their OL can get back on track. Quote

I'm not saying that haven't tried They haven't been able to develop them We took two physically raw yet talented prospects in Dawkins and brown .. let them go through the ups and downs and grow And now we have two of the best in the world 1 Quote

For sure our interior is very good I got the receipts to back it up here and I was literally one of the first if not the first person here to say how good McGovern would be at center .. I was not worried at all about losing Morse Interior line and things like center is a grooming position not necessarily a high success rate right out the gate.. you're looking for traits that you can develop And McGovern checks every single box from the size and length to athleticism and tenacity... And smarts Not to mention we have good guards also It's nice to not have a sieve for an offensive line anymore Edited September 18 by Buffalo716 1 Quote
