Red states also lag in life expectancy, healthcare access, education, and income, with social services scarce and reliance on federal funding higher. Bottom line: despite big-city challenges, people in blue states are healthier, safer, and better supported than those in red states. Where do you live?

Of course, its brought up, but there is is this fantasy that “red” areas are more American, which is nuts. However, the “red” areas have just as many problems - drugs, poverty, lack of health care, etc - but they keep telling themselves THOSE people are the problem. THE GOP playbook is to create enemies and make people hate those other people and tear down their hometowns, their cultures, their religions, and how they live. Memphis has had one Republican mayor since the 1960s (for one year) and St. Louis hasn't had one since the 1940s. I'm going to guess that the other two are similar.
