Operation Eagle Claw didn’t fail because we lacked guts it failed because it was a logistical nightmare with no margin for error. ‘Would’ve been something’ doesn’t change that 8 Americans died and zero hostages were rescued. Real leadership means learning from disaster, not romanticizing it.

I am extremely familiar with the scheme and what was going to happen if things went poorly on day two, which they probably would have. I don't know anybody "romanticizing" anything about it.
