This wasn't intended to "justify" anything.  It was just noting that the NBA seems to be moving away from the pack-your-roster-with-stars philosophy and approaching roster building in a way that is similar to what McDermott has been doing. 

 

Can't help it if you have trouble thinking about two sports at the same time.  

I don’t have trouble at all Shaw. I just see zero connection here. Sorry.

I’m not a huge NBA fan but I think what’s being witnessed is similar to the transition the NFL went through after a generation of star QBs got old all at the same time. I remember a lot of NFL fans wondering at the time whether the ‘glory days’ of the league were over. Then, out of seemingly nowhere we got an entirely new set of young star QBs.
