The ATC strike was an illegal violation.

This is not.

This is a political game using human pawns.

 

They have every right to call in sick when the gov refuses to pay them.

 

All the more reason to privatize the ATC function of the FAA, so it can no longer be used by stupid, reckless politicians.

 

No matter. This tragedy has nothing to do with the FAA and looks like an uncontained engine explosion which may not have been possible to recover from, though time will tell.

Engine failures are trained to all the time, and engines have kevlar to keep parts "contained."

This may have been beyond that ability.

I  asked Ai the question "who pays air traffic controllers in..." Europe, Asia,S. America, Africa.  Each answer began with "The national government generally pays." Interestingly, Brazil's are employed by the Air Force.  I did find an entity called Eurocontrol which is run by multiple member states that appears to regulate air travel in Europe but does not appear to be private.  What countries are you referring to?

Australia.

Canada.

Germany.

100 countries.

 

Self funded. Detached from gov funding.

i don't hear anyone celebrating.  I watched the owner of the parts and service company that got destroyed, almost in tears.  He's convinced 2 of his missing employees are dead and they're still trying to account for some customers.  It was clear from the first video of the crash that the plane failed during take off.  Why would anyone think that was due to air traffic control?
