The reason for the similar situation two years in a row is probably not just a coincidental factor.
Perhaps too small or not young enough.

Taron Johnson's repeated concussions were concerning.
Maybe more 3LB are needed to avoid his damage buildup.

This is a huge factor that nobody wants to acknowledge.  When you put a total of 440 pounds of Linebackers on the field in your base defense and ask them to play sideline to sideline, they're going to get beat to hell.

Now factor in the 17 game season and the elimination of a bye in the playoffs and it shouldn't come as a shock that you're running a MASH unit out there by January.

I will 100% agree that, when healthy, we were the best team in the league.

If we were able to play Madden seasons, and take injuries out of the equation, I think we would have won the Super Bowl this past year.

That being said, of course that is not the case.  And we can't just act like we have bad luck every year now.  At some point the excuses need to stop.  Sometimes freak things happen.. Tre White, Von Miller, Matt Milano injuries are things you can't really prevent.  But we don't need to be going all-out down the stretch just to make the playoffs.. having to play the final game of the season to potentially get in/ended up being for the division.   We didn't need the second half of the Steelers WC game to be anything more than a cakewalk.

You know who was rested going into the Bills game? Kansas City.  And not because of the snow moving our game.. but more-so because they rested key guys the final week of the season because they weren't in desperation mode.  Think we could've used Gabe Davis in that KC game after watching Sherfield play like a college walk-on?

KC ended up losing 2/4ths of their starting DL as the playoffs went on.  Did that seem to hinder Spags to the level where his defense was playing patty cake all day?  Nope.  He found a way.. because he always finds a way in the playoffs.

Beane can build the best roster in the NFL year in/year out.  It doesn't matter because seasons aren't perfect.  Injuries happen.  And we need to A) put ourselves in positions to mitigate injury risk and B) have our coaches step up and find ways to overcome those injuries.

And for the love of all that is holy.. can we please get Allen a more complete WR room this year?  Having Trent Sherfield be a starting outside WR during a playoff game because we had one guy hurt is insane.
