I'm curious; aside from not wanting to fund mutilating kids under 18 (once you hit 18 vote, buy a gun, get a tattoo or your dick cut off, I don't give a flying *****) what exactly is the current administration doing to come after people who identify as trans?

Telling them they can't play girls sports? Having them stick to the right bathrooms?

I mean what are they actually doing that meaningfully impacts their lives?

I think booting them from the military is something that fair minded people could object to. I personally do not object to it. That makes me awful. Other than that, they are literally genociding the trans community. Something like that.

Well it depends on who you ask.

If you ask the Roundy types they'll tell you that people who identify as trans are being identified for eventual concentration camp incarceration and elimination. Trans genocide.

If you ask people who still live under a blue sky they are saying that seven year old kids should not be indoctrinated into the trans ideology in school and that trans "women" not be permitted to participate in women's sports. These people will also point out that trans "men" participating in men's sports doesn't seem to be a thing in the trans movement at all.

Weird.

Now comes the part where the Roundy types respond to this post full of acknowledgement that people who say they are trans do indeed exist is evidence of my denial of the existence of trans identifying people.

I think it started when they delisted it as a mental illness.

I mean, if you want to eschew gender norms that are effectively a societal construct, fine. You do you and I won't judge.

When that crosses a line into denying your biology (edge cases like hermaphrodites notwithstanding) then it transitions (😂 no pun intended) into mental illness. It's no different than the people who think their foot feels weird and have it purposely amputated.

Personally...

I thing liberal men get off men hitting and hurting women as long as that man wears a dress...

There was a vocal, unhinged minority here that defended that situation. One particularly unhinged person (joe Ferguson forever) had spent six+ decades able to differentiate between men and women only to see the error of his ways as this guy bludgeoned his way to a gold medal.

I'm never surprised by the thought process of an NPC like him...

It's likely he got off on a man hitting a woman in the face...

Justified by the fact that the man wears a dress in his private time...

He might be a transvestite himself...

You never know...

He might be wearing a dress and punching a bag right now...

Thinking about his "wife"...

It's not "delisted" as a mental illness.

As a mental health professional, it's still in the DSM. F64.0 or F64.9.

Homosexuality was removed with the latest addition (DSM-5) about 10 years ago.

Thanks, I was under the impression it had been removed, or whatever the appropriate terminology is...

I think the confusion is from when they removed homosexuality. You'll have people argue that just because you're trans, doesn't mean you have gender dysphoria (I disagree).

That said, I've worked with or have had associates work with people in the transgender community and they have all been nice as hell. A little 'weird' (video gamers, anime, manga, etc.) but were super nice. Why there are people who are overly harmless then extreme to the point they are shooting up schools, I don't know that answer.

Looking at the Numbers

David Strom

I am so tired of people whose first impulse is to quote experts rather than facts.

An "expert" is part of an establishment. Facts are reflective of reality. We can grapple with facts. Assess the relevance, the context, and how to weight different variables. The quality of the data. You can wrestle with an issue if you look at the facts.

Drag out an "expert?" All you have done is appeal to authority. The authority may be right or wrong, but there is no way to assess its credibility without recourse to the facts.

I got to thinking about this as I was reading about the horrific shooting that occurred in my neck of the woods yesterday. Yet another Trantifa terrorist shot up yet another Christian school. Suddenly, a bunch of experts came out of the woods--or the AIs I consulted about the issue--told us that there is no correlation between transgender identity and proclivity to such violence--particularly mass shootings.

I wondered how they justified that statement, which stands in stark contrast to our experience.
