Yeah I don't partake anymore. I was in so much pain I was willing to try anything. I take it you have back pain as well. Well wishes back at you if so. It's a game changer for sure. I often feel like it's going to be my downfall in hindsight. I just don't see getting past it. I hear surgery is not a great option either. Quote

I was high before the surgery and during surgery. I vaped a good amount before I went under. I didn’t think my first back surgery (‘88) was major until they said I’d be in a striker bed. They turned me, strapped in the bed, like a pancake every 4 hours for 3 days. They chipped bone from my hip to fuse three vertebrae together, which didn’t take. They said my drinking contributed greatly for why it didn’t take. My next surgery to correct it (‘90) was with rods and screws. I got embolisms in both lungs and was in the ICU for almost two weeks. Had 3 more surgeries since then. I had to have a filter installed to catch clots for each. The last surgery was 3yrs. ago. more rods and screws with adjustments to the hardware. The discs just keep blowing upwards. I carry a card for going through metal detectors. Yeah, I guess back surgeries can be considered major. Edited 11 hours ago by US Egg 2 Quote

Never smoked weed in my life or anything Seriously, the effects did nothing. The first I drank over 10-12 minutes. Nada. The second I chugged. Nothing. How disappointing. I was trying to test THC because I will begin THC infused honey soon. 10mg in 2 oz honey. Edibles/drinkables are hard to predict Quote

When I took the gummies I was hoping for relief. Had that funk experience. Someone told me that your mood can have effect on how you experience weed. Idk lol Try and edible with super low THC (like 2.5mg), high CBD (and other cannabinoids). Edibles are very “person specific” when it comes to their effect. This is about as low of a dose as you could go. If it still knocked you into La La land, I agree cannabis might not be a good option for you. 39 minutes ago, PromoTheRobot said: Edibles/drinkables are hard to predict Especially if it’s one of the hemp derived “farm bill compliant” THC beverages you see everywhere. The vast majority are not tested for potency and / or the labs running the analysis are pure trash. (Most of these beverages won’t have a COA) Quote

I took lorazepam for a surgery procedure recently and it didn't do *****. They had to triple my dosage and I was still perfectly aware of everything. Quote

I've only had a couple experiences with it but both times I was super paranoid, thought I was going to die and everything around me felt blacker than night (at night). I herniated my back and had never used anything like this ever. Thought I'd try a little for pain management. Instead i thought my blankets were talking to me and making rude faces. That sounds like LSD. Quote

Benzos and THC work on totally different receptors and have completely different pharmacology so it’s entirely possible that you’d be sensitive to one and not the other. We also still don’t know a whole lot about how the endocannabinoid system interacts with other signaling systems so it’s also possible that you could be sensitive to both or neither. People can also be relatively unaffected by cannabis edibles but will get their doors blown off by smoking / vaping. Edibles undergo first pass metabolism when broken down by the body and as you’d imagine this process has significant individual variability. THC inhalation generally produces more “predictable” effects. Nothing earth shattering here but I always like to point out some of this stuff when people say “weed doesn't affect me” or “weed makes me paranoid”. I’d be willing to bet that by playing around with different types of products (different cannabinoid concentrations), dosages, and routes of administration, THC can still be a viable option for people looking for relief (even if it doesn’t seem that way at first). This is especially true for those who are cannabis naive and have only tried it a handful of times. Quote
