There is an online portal that is supposed to generate it immediately, but it triggers a manual review and won’t process if your LLC name is similar to one in another state or something like that. So the only route was to fax in the application. They refused to even tell me if they received the application until 30 BUSINESS days had passed. When I returned to my tax preparer to see if she could figure out what the problem was she was able to contact the IRS by phone (special # for preparers). After more than a half hour on hold she got someone to answer the call. After bringing up my account the person was asked what's the problem? What more information do you need? The person responded I don't know! All the income I get is documented. All the deductions I take are documented. My financial situation has been nearly the same for the past 15 yrs. However, I had to do a minor amendment and am due back an extra $170. Been waiting on that check for months. Did the amendment in May.
