Hey - It’s a good activity to get your ass up off the couch and get some walking in. You can make creative signs. Young and old can participate. No matter what side they are on, you should appreciate the peaceful protesters as there are so many countries, like Russia, whose citizens don’t have that right. 2

Agree. It’s this part of your post that makes the constant cries of FASCIST and NAZI from those on your side so incredibly lame, boring, and inappropriate. Good on you for not joining in on that.

I can think of a million other things I'd rather be doing than join a protest.

History has shown that countries get to fascist dictatorships through a series of steps. It doesn’t happen overnight. The concern of many is that Trump is taking steps walking down that path. Similarly, in every election cycle, the right never hesitates to scream communism at Dem tax or health care proposals. The irony is the Trump admin wants government ownership of chip companies like Intel. Now that sounds like communism. https://www.reuters.com/legal/government/trump-eyes-us-government-stakes-other-chip-makers-that-received-chips-act-funds-2025-08-19/ 1 2

And in 2.5 years republicans will be screaming about how communist the Dem presidential candidates are. Personally, I think we have a more of a corporate government….government by and for corporations.

Literally pulled from your article. Peak tds.

Doesn't mean we have to like it or submissively accept it. They didn't get my heart rate or blood pressure up. I knew there are many like them out there. It was good to put faces on a few. They are largely who I thought they'd be - angry young men. Call it a sociology experiment... I will comment on the Asheville protest I saw in Mid July. The people there were primarily old and they were blocking the road a bunch of times by simply not getting into the park but standing along the roads edge. People honked at them but nothing more came of it because the drivers were careful, not the protesters being smart. But I will tell you that your comment about " angry young men" is pathetically incorrect, you have young men who have been lied to by people like you for the past 8 years. They are not angry, they just want you to shut up with your lies. Whites are not more dangerous, other cultures are not equal to the US, and bringing in low level immigrants is not helping out country. The fact that you believed these obvious lies shows how stupid you are and the young men aren't mad, they simply know you are dishonest and don't care what your opinion is because your not bright enough to worry about 1

It began selling shares once GM went public again in November 2010, and the pace picked up this year as the stock rose more than 40 percent. Last month, the government said it expected to sell the remaining 2 percent stake by the end of the year. 1

I can understand why the gov bought shares of the failing struggling GM to keep it afloat. So why does Trump want a share of chip companies? Are they struggling like GM? Make it make sense to me.

You’re asking me to make sense of government decisions, I can’t tell you why some companies are chosen as winners and others as losers. Does the govt buy shares in every struggling company? I’d bet not. 1

He's the worst liar of all times and you call me a liar. wtf was a rabid maga like you doing in uber liberal Asheville? I mean, I love the town, the funky bars and restaurants, the Biltmore, the people. but there really aren't many maga hangouts. You won't encounter many maga's in the spa at the Grove Park Inn. maybe you were escaping the Florida heat and humidity in a mountain town. Interesting how many nice mountain towns are progressive... Oh, and why should I shut up? I'm well within my rights to protest. Freedom! This is what democracy looks like. Edited August 21 by Joe Ferguson forever 2
