While I appreciate your perspective and your engagement with Evans’ work, the “scale” argument always misses the point. When Trump literally echoes Hitler’s rhetoric - from “vermin” to “enemy of the people” and floats imprisoning or executing political rivals, the historical parallels stop being academic. Hitler didn’t start with death camps; he started with propaganda, dehumanization, and institutional capture. If the shoe fits, it’s not about whether Trump is wearing it yet it’s that he’s lacing it up in full view.

Actually this is in large part not true. Maybe not "death camps", but he did arrest his political rivals (communists , some jews, and socialists) and put them in new jails he set up. Many were tortured and killed. All in the first 6 months. And then of course 400 more political rivals were shot and killed including some their family in the Night of the Long Knives in July 1934. I'll give you the vermin thing I guess, but I still think scale means a lot. Let me know when "TRUMP" illegally orders to kill anyone. Hitler also liked dogs but "TRUMP" does not.
