This goes hand in hand with my philosophy that there really isn't THAT MANY new plays in football

Everything has been run for 80 years, every wrinkle and disguise has been used

I try and watch LOTS of old school football from the 40-50-60s and the genius on some of there play designs were next to none

A lot of the "innovation" these days comes from putting things that have done before together if you get my drift. I've mentioned the Andy Reid - Mariucci interview before but basically Reid is still running a lot of west coast concepts it just is mixing other stuff in with it.... so it is the west coast with the pistol, it is the west coast with jet motion, it is the west coast out of the spread.... you are right there is not much new stuff out there. It's the same stuff spliced together in a slightly different way.
