Should we have traded Shady back to Philly?

Knowing what we know now? Is Shady really part of our plans next year?

How do you guys feel about it? Should we have taken the picks?

What picks?  I dont recall us being offered anything of value.  We apparently wanted a 2nd and a 3rd, but Philly never offered that.  Rumor was Bills dropped the price to a 4th, but if that is true then obviously no one offered that either.  So what picks are you referring to?

But to answer your question...No.  Could we have gotten by this year with Ivory, sure.  But I believe McCoy will still be a good RB next year for us, and thats one less position to fill on the offense this year.  Todd Gurley was a shell of himself during Goffs rookie year.  Why, because no one feared the passing attack of Keenum or Goff throwing to crap WR's.  And they had a bad OL.

They invested heavily in the offense that offseason at both OL and totally cleared out WR core and replaced everyone with Woods, Sammy, and Kupp while also adding a second dangerous receiving TE.  Then magically Gurley was better than ever again.

McCoy can have the same type of bounce back next year and be a 1200+ yard back still with 500+ receiving yards IMO if we can get some blocking and some receivers to help Allen make defenses respect the pass.  Allens ability to run will also help open up the offense too.

I don't understand why Marcus Murphy isn't more involved he's averaging 5.5ypc. He needs more carries.

He's not even a speed bump pass blocking. I don't want him anywhere near the field and think he's the one that should be cut so he doesn't get someone hurt. Replace him with someone who has a future.

McCoy showed that he's still plenty explosive against the NYJ.  He's a home run hitter that the Bills need for big plays from and I expect his production to return once they get better on the OL with C/G as positions in need of upgrade. Bottom line is he's in the plans for 2019.

I think the line is partially to blame, for sure. Big part of the equation... But I think our QB situation is just as much to blame. When we're trotting out Nate Peterman, or Derek Anderson, the game plan for the defense is pretty simple. Load the box and stop #25. Because our QB's sure as hell weren't going to beat them. I think now with a bit steadier QB play, his production will come up a bit.
