Comparing Jackson and Taylor is pure laziness. Their similarities start and end with "QB who is also a dynamic running threat." Everything past that is very different.

There may be a factor besides laziness involved.  Doug Williams received the same evaluation as did Cam, Teddy B., RG3, Vick, VY, J. Russell, R Wilson, K Stewart and Byron Leftwich.  They're all the same guy to some "talent evaluators".  Continuing to read about it is nauseating.

Well they all do look just alike.

Hmmmm I wonder what that factor might be. I just can't...quite....put my finger on it.

They're both guys who would never be considered for NFL QB spots if not for their running ability.

Interesting take.

Lamar Jacksons pro day if he blows up and has Mayock drooling like I think he will think that might influence a team or two behind us at 12 like the cardinals to try to jump into the top 10

I want to see improved mechanics from a very scripted throwing against air

Why does this impact the Bills? I would be shocked if we were interested in Jackson. Why not just keep TT if that were the case. I have faith in this regime to not just take a QB for the sake of making the fans happy. If they see their franchise QB (one of the top 4) and can move up to get him then yay for us! Finally! But if the opportunity doesn't present itself I believe we will hold firm with McCarron (who could be a steal) and Peterman this year and build this team up everywhere else instead of wasting a pick on a Losman (only non franchise QB taken in the 1st round of 2004 draft) or EJ Manuel again. Great LB could be had at 12 with Smith or Edmunds.

My dream scenario is we somehow pull a trade off with NYG at 2 and take our guy but I pray more that if it's not possible Beane is true to his word and doesn't waste a pick on a guy that who isn't a long term franchise QB.

Lamar Jackson is not Tyrod Taylor.  Other than the obvious, there is no comparison.

I apologize for not elaborating on my TT/Jackson comment. I don't think they are the same player but I do think they will give us the same consistent result. They are both adequate NFL QBs but are both closer to bridge quarterbacks than they are to franchise guys. If you guys have watched Jackson play you know he's an unbelievably gifted athlete and the most exciting COLLEGE QB I've ever seen but have you ever seen him be consistent accuracy wise? He's very erratic and his arm strength is no where close to the guy he's compared to (Michael Vick). In the NFL I'd rather have TT. He's not as athletic but takes care of the ball and has great deep ball accuracy. All of this being said my original point was that neither QB is worth the investment of a franchise QB. This FO has been great thus far and I'd hate for their legacy to go down in flames because they listened to fans and settled on a QB they really don't believe will make this franchise a consistent threat for the next 10+ years. Like I said before if we can trade up and get the guy they think can turn this franchise around long term than I'm in but if not PLEASE don't settle for a lesser QB to invest in. McCarron is a fine bridge QB and we can build this team up (like the Vikes did) everywhere else until we have another chance at a franchise QB. Go BIlls!

Please point to one transaction that supports the theory that this front office will make a decision "because they listened to fans."

The comparison I made in my second comment is that they would give us the same result...neither is a franchise QB which is the only reason we moved on from TT and shouldn't draft Jackson.

Next question...

This is Beane's first draft as our GM. They have not done anything "because they listened to the fans" yet and I HOPE they keep ignoring us fans and they either go big (trade up for the guy they deem will be a franchise QB) or go home (stay the course of building through the draft until we get another crack at moving up for a franchise QB)

There is no way to know if Jackson is franchise QB. Someone could certainly guess the probability but many a fan and GM have lost bets on many a player year after year.  For Jackson (and every player), the jury is not only out but the trial has yet to begin.

And, of course, FO could believe Jackson is their franchise QB at #12.

I totally agree with this!!! Had he ran the 40 at the combine, they'd be drooling over him already.
