I have a hard time comparing "Trump talks to Russians" to Nixon, not when the people pushing the collusion story are ignoring Clinton's Russian contacts that, by the definition they're using, more strongly meet the definition of "collusion."

Likewise, I have a hard time complaining about the Presidential golf game, since the President is always on duty with an entourage ensuring he is in touch and working...and since the people bitching about "Trump golfs too much" are the same people afraid of him exercising authority, in which case the more time spent on the links and the less in the Oval Office should be a GOOD thing in their context.

Seems like I heard this before, maybe a few years back. I don't think it was about Trump though.

I don't care about how much the man plays golf. I care that many of the people who don't care about Trump playing [more] golf, cared a lot about how much Obama played golf ...

Barely a year into his presidency.

Not saying you because I don't recall you being a part of that crowd. I just don't know why people can't call a spade a spade and I think it's an indictment on our politics and the people who participate within it.

More than anything it calls into question the value of their criticisms because they then read as disingenuous and gratuitous partisan attacks.

I just knew people would be like "damn, so you know what, I gave O **** for his vacationing and golfing and because fair is fair is fair is fair, Trump is over the top with it so he deserves **** too."

Instead, it's silence from the cooks and the doctors and the numbers and the people who live in la and Alaska.

But yet the criticisms were impersonal though ...

Media complained loudly over W playing so much golf, that when Obama easily passed him they had no energy to make an issue of it...

"W" quit playing golf shortly after the onset of the Iraqi war. He said he just didn't feel right being on the golf course while he was the Commander-in Chief, with men at war.

Obama took off to the west coast for a fundraiser while the Benghazi siege was taking place.

Slick Willy would insist on playing up to 4 shots until he was happy

He played with Nicklaus and said he shot a 73 at a top course to the post round media, Jack almost had a stroke hearing that

The worst  jackass to play with is one who holds up everyone to keep playing a shot until he is happy, ran into a few in my day....

Anyine who who pulled out two or three more balls to play a shot was the worst of the worst

Bill Clinton was renown for cheating at golf.  At Congressional (I think) they started calling mulligans "Clintons."

It was pretty much a good-natured joke, though.

Anyone who didn't play their first ball with penalty for screw ups was wrong and not a golfer, but a sleazeball.

When a man who shoots 120 has to pretend he shot in the 70s, tasering is too good for him.

As a former single digit handicap, who earned it with "snowmans" and lost bets, I have a healthy respect for playing the game the right way. I'll not play again until I can threaten that standard. Sucks to have a bad back.

It’s a social game and rules are enforced as mutually accepted by your foursome and tournament competitors

i was often stuck with bankers and lawyers who couldn’t hit a five iron 29 yards off the tee on a PGA tournament course (not prepped for a big event)

So the rules weren’t fully in play, we were finishing dead last and getting a golf glove as prize for honesty...

Let’s just have a nice day and dinner....

At one course they put up a plaque to commemorate John Daly driving the ball 390 into the creek behind the green during the Canadian Open Pro-Am. Many people I played with asked me if they might duplicate this if the wind was right....

yeah maybe get there by your third shot....
