After watching the preseason game against the Ravens I will say that Peterman does some things really well. I like that he made some nice anticipation throws and wouldve had better numbers if it wasnt for some bad drops. I still think Tyrod should start but I think Peterman has shown that he can step in if TT is playing poorly.

Fair enough and I agree their play calling in the preseason games is a dumbed down version of what they are doing in practices. Tyrod struggling with an easier preseason game plan makes no sense at all and makes no sense that Tyrod would flourish with a more complicated regular season game plan week 1.

This offense isn't suited for his style and it is really evident by watching him struggle mightily so far.

And again, I suspect they're holding back all the plays in this offense that are suited for Taylor's style. And I suspect those are the ones the team has been practicing and executing in TC.

We haven't seen Taylor roll out even once. You think those aren't in the plans?

Whether beneficial or not, I don't think Dennison/McDermott really want to show the wrinkles in this offense that they'll primarily implement that they believe will make this team the most effective.

If we start the season and all or most of what we see in terms of offensive playcalling (which has centered around 3 step drops with Taylor under center) is what we've seen with Taylor in the preseason, then I suspect we'll see Peterman sooner rather than later because an offense centered on a QB under center taking 3 step drops primarily won't really work for Taylor. He needs to get deeper in the pocket, for one thing. It isn't really utilizing a lot of his strengths, for another.

It isn't easy vs complex, it's whatever they want to evaluate. If Tyrod is proving to be competent at rolling out and using RPOs then why wouldn't they have him get more reps doing the things he's less comfortable with so far?

Agreed.

Jeff Tuel did that in his preseason, too.

Whats that say about the Tuel Time crowd?

Don't listen to them.

Somehow I doubt it. And I say that bigly.

Roman and Rex are gone. Gone is that failed system!!

Is that the eye test?

I mean Tuel did throw for over 200 yards and 2 TDs in his first preseason game.

Yes, that would be the "eye test".

Plus QB evaluators such as Gruden and Greg Gabriel both happen to believe that Peterman has the potential to be a quality starting caliber NFL quarterback. I don't think anyone with that kind of cred had the same thing to say of Tuel.

I agree 100%.

I'd like to add for him to even bring Tuel into the equation shows how little he knows about QBs.

No. You just have an incredibly short memory.

Tuel actually looked good in the preseason for 2013.

It's hilariously convenient for you (and others) to say dumb stuff like this because we can now look at Tuel and know he's not an NFL QB.

And?

Evaluators do get wrong. The truth is Tuel looked good in preseason. Better than Peterman has, eye test and all.

But it's preseason, and you can't hang your hat on that evaluation.

Myself personally,

I think you know more than your average bear when it comes to the QB/position my friend,

Unless they are hiding the true offense and running a fake drop back system in preseason it has to be Peterman. Taylor isn't made for this system, which makes me ask, why did the keep him in the first place.

Can we coax Kyle Orton out of retirement?

Are we gonna screw up the season and win 7 or 8 games?

No thanks I'll take the 3 or 4 win season and move on.

It's not as if McDermott and Dennison weren't around when Tyrod was brought back so they obviously disagree with you since he's still their starting QB.
