Misterbluesky
If anybody is going to rewatch..or view for the first time tonight...look at Frazier's feet when he hit the double (ph)..those are his old ,abused and used ankle cleats. He's gripping but not quitting..I'll give him that. SinceThe70s
Just read that Carlos Gomez is getting called up for tonight's game. What's not clear is whether it's to replace Conforto or Broxton.

Another Fan
Per those Tom Petty lyrics, Even the loser gets lucky sometimes.... I mean I guess the Marlins were due to get a win. Still as of the 5th inning the offense looks asleep. I don't worry about DeGrom yet but he's not the pitcher of last year.
Gugny
No way, ever, the Mets should lose to the Marlins with deGrom on the mound. This one's on Jake. Sometimes you're the pigeon; sometimes you're the statue. One of those games. 1

Marlins had scored 8 runs in their last 7 games. So 7 against DeGrom was a no brainer, amirite? Plenty not to like about the Mets so far but I still feel good about this team. I'd feel better with a new manager, but I think if that happens it will mean that my good feeling is long since gone.

There was a game early in the season where DeGrom was shaking off D'Arnaud on seemingly every pitch and I thought that was a problem. I'm more concerned that DeGrom is tipping pitches but the catcher angle is intriguing.

Dude just can't hit. But if we keep spotting teams 5 runs, that really doesn't matter. If the Marlins sweep us, Callaway should be let go. Is that the answer? Maybe not. But he is certainly a big part of the problem.

Seems like a decent man It would be nice though for him to show whatever Billy Martin blood he may have in him. His press conferences are always we're still battling, we left it all out on the field, were gonna keep going at it, etc... So generic

Gugny
Swept by a team that's not even trying to win. Three hits in 18 innings of baseball against the worst team in the league. That, my friends, is uninspired baseball.

I don't know that changing the manager will make a big difference, but now is as good a time as any to move on.

Give the reigns to Riggleman, who has prior experience managing. Hope for the best. But Mick, as great a guy as he seems, has been in over his head from literally almost day one. I'll never forget the batting out of order debacle. That was the first major red flag ... followed by many others.
Another Fan
At this point I really don't get too worked over losses. The only thing I found a bit grating was the post game show if any of you guys watched it. Mickey was making excuses for Cano's lack of hustling as did Cano. Jim Duqette called them both out for it.
Golden Goat
To me, if you mortgage the future to make a run at the World Series, you'd better not be sub-500 and damn well better not have just been swept by a AAA team -- against your aces. What a ***** embarrassment.
Misterbluesky
It would be too easy to start Gagnon tonight (5),he's been off the mound since the 15th....so Callaway is going with Font.
SinceThe70s
VW gives Mickey a vote of confidence. Lugo to the injured list Cespedes fractured his ankle in a non-baseball related activity on his ranch in Florida. The hits just keep coming. Well everywhere except on the ball field.

SinceThe70s
Alonso hits a moon shot close to but way over the foul pole and the HR gets upheld on replay. Gary was emphatic during the replay that the Citi Field foul poles are much shorter than other stadiums. Never heard that before. Seems like that should be a standard. Probably obstructed someones view of Venus home plate from the Acela Club (or whatever they call it these days).

SinceThe70s
Current injury list includes: Conforto, McNeil, Cano, Nimmo, Lowrie. Have to give VW credit for having a backup plan and guys like the J.D. Davis, Carlos Gomez, Rajai Davis, Hechevarria and (I cannot believe I'm typing this) Dom Smith ready to step in. And he still has Danny Espinosa and Gregor Blanco in Syracuse.
