Well.....if they are running plays which involve Tyrod in the run then I would say its very good because its very productive. Lets keep in mind that Tyrod has a pretty good statline for a QB in those running yards AND let keep in mind that with him on the field teams have to account for him as a runner. We saw just how different it looks in the final game against the jets when he was not on the field.

They would be much worse on 3rd down without him?

Bottom line....TT isnt a franchise qb...im not gonna back up stats that say he is when presented here and im not gonna knock TT for NOT being a franchise guy. We should continue to draft qbs. HOWEVER......peole that go the the other direction and say he sucks are wrong to....if he truly was that bad we would have already switched him out for another option....but YOU DONT DO THAT WHEN YOUR OFFENSE IS 10TH IN THE LEAGUE IN SCORING.

John from trade this crappy qb way back in 2016 ! Tyrod blows and you know it.

He's still the 20th ranked qb of 32.

Not exactly playoff material. On to the next one.

He was the 20th out of 32 in 2016.

What was he in 2015?

The offense will be designed around Tyrod. That offense will not be the best one for developing a pocket passer behind him.

McDermott has publicly stated recently that the reason he kept Taylor was specifically because he fit in really well with the offense they would be running...

so, ummm...

....short, sweet and simple.....don't give a rat's azz whether Sammy is healthy, we have the second coming of Jerry Rice or Gronk/Witten/Gonzo/Gates, if this guy cannot scan the field in the time allotted and find open receivers (WR or TE), how the hell do you talk about "highlights"?..."run or done" is IT?......

I see a chance for success. That involves getting an elite QB. Then McDermott will be good enough.

Wow, what an idiotic post.

So I guess John Harbaugh and Tom Coughlin and Pete Carroll aren't good enough because they don't have elite QBs.

So stupid.

Reactionary as ever. Thanks for participating.

*EVASIVE MANEUVERS!!!!*

You could just admit you were wrong, ya know.

Why do people have such a problem doing that?

"not exactly playoff"

Well....that all depends on how good the other 2 facets of the game are now isnt it......The Texans went to the playoffs with a qb that isnt as good as Tyrod because of their defense.

Stop centering EVERYTHING around this one position and player who is a middle level starter in the NFL.....this is what we have so lets iimprove the the other areas that are NOT as good as the offense.

Jesus im talking myself into a defensive player at 10

Honestly John, look at it this way

Lets say that TT throws passes on 25 % of 3rd down plays. What value do these "good" stats have when they fail to convert?

Does it really matter that TT has improved his 3rd down passing stats when the bottom line is that the team failed to get a 1st and continue the drive!?

Ummm... the value is that you have a QB doing his part at that particular aspect of the game, which many consider very important.

This twisting and turning of this whole argument from you folks in terms of what a QB is and is not responsible for or should or should not get credit for is really bizarre and inconsistent.

All of those coaches have QB's capable of winning a Superbowl. That is something that will never happen for Tyrod.

So from what McD is saying is they are gearing and setting up everything for Tyrod, so another words we have a new staff gearing everything on a backup just like Chan did with Fitz that worked so well for Chan, funny thing is even the Jests tried to make that Chan/Fitz thing work....fail

If they don't try to upgrade the QB position and stay with Tyrod this staff and GM are gone in 2019 in my opinion.

This says a lot about you...

Your million and a half posts in this thread says a lot about you

Sean McDermott, "QB play is critical."

If he doesn't listen to his own words he is a goner.

In the games in which TT was quarterbacking the team did the teams offense not score the 7th most points in the league?

I mean we will put aside that as a whole the offense was 10th in the league which is also pretty damn good

Stats are garbage considering many of those stats happened after the game was already lost. Prevent D time is when Tyrod shines just like others have padding stats.

Tyrod will be a lot better this year.

They better hope so or this new staff will lose the fans year 1, better have his replacement ready to go.

Just like Whaley and his words when hired, this team is in QB purgatory, but yet here we are still in it. Edited by xRUSHx

Actually it is very consisent.....anything to put TT in a negative.

But nobody "hates" him

"stats are garbage"

Except when they fit your narrative

If he fit really well...why did they restructure his contract where it was a pretty big paycut and put another out clause? Wouldn't you want a guy who fit what you're doing really well locked up long term?

I think it's because it's coach speak.
