Trump Alone at the Top

Recommended Posts

You have to wonder at what point the Trumpster Divers start realizing the yuge mistake they've made handing him the GOP nom.

They don't.

You've got to remember, there's Tea Partiers in Congress that are on record as thinking it's no big deal if the US defaults on US debt, because they once didn't pay their credit card bills and it wasn't so bad...

Sad part is that trump doesn't think that renegotiating the debt at a discount is a default. It is.

We have people in Congress who think too many people on Guam will cause it to tip over. Congress is loaded with nutbags. The key is keeping them from being president.

interesting interview with a long time Republican consultant/advisor/strategist : http://www.npr.org/2016/05/09/477301472/republican-backlash-continues-to-build-against-donald-trump

about trump supporters:

STIPANOVICH: Yeah, I think that they are misinformed and haven't thought this through. Let's talk about his pledge to deport 12 million illegal aliens. Anybody who believes that the United States of America is going to round up, transport, guard, house, feed and deport 12 million people, twice as many as Stalin managed to deport in 30 years of trying, is a fool. And anybody who cynically exploits a fool's credulity is a charlatan.

and this:

STIPANOVICH: I would say to his supporters, I understand your anger. I understand your frustration. I understand your anxiety - country's changing rapidly, socially, things are changing rapidly, racially the country's in transition.

But step back and think about what can actually be done about that. We're not going back to 1956. And to just elect someone like Donald Trump because you're frustrated is irresponsible.

Funny seeing republicans frustrated that someone else is misleading their fools.

THE ART OF THE DEAL: Donald Trump Walks Back Tax Plan, Saying ‘It’s Going to Be Negotiated’

MICHAEL WALSH: Donald Trump is going to troll his way to victory.

Libertarian Party membership applications double after Trump becomes GOP nominee.

As Trump Coasts to the Nomination, Remember That the Cartoonist Behind Dilbert Saw It All Coming. Scott Adams also predicts Trump will beat Hillary Clinton in “a landslide.”

“Why did Adams believe, against all conventional wisdom, that Trump would win? His prediction had little to do with the mood of the electorate, the weak and fractured Republican field, or the issue of immigration. Instead, argues Adams, Trump’s success in the election is due almost entirely to his skill as a ‘master persuader.’

On the other hand, Adams believes that Hillary Clinton and her team are remarkably unskilled in the art of persuasion and points out that their first anti-Trump ad simply highlights Trump’s anti-establishment qualities. . . .

It’s a wild hypothesis that runs contrary to the conventional wisdom about how elections, and human beings, work. But then again, with Trump positioned as the Republican’s presumptive nominee while Hillary Clinton still struggles to lock up the Democratic nomination against a candidate almost nobody expected to compete, note how far conventional wisdom has gotten us this election season.”

I'm sick watching Trump getting the nomination, but I would be excessively sicker if everyone in the entire party were completely okay with such a flawed candidate.

You know...kinda like the entire Democratic Party is doing with Hillary.

Bernie is closer to hillary than is any republican to trump...by a lot.

the remarkable thing about this commentator is that he is directly criticizing trump supporters who constitute a large portion of his party.

about trump supporters:

STIPANOVICH: Yeah, I think that they are misinformed and haven't thought this through. PICK THE MOST VULNERABLE TALKING POINT EVEN WHEN IT IS CLEAR THAT IT IS JUST A TALKING POINT, MAKE IT SOUND HORRIFYING AND COMPARE THE TARGET TO A HISTORICAL FIGURE WHO KILLED MILLIONS. Note: IT IS FINE TO USE A HISTORICAL FIGURE WHOSE ECONOMIC POLICIES ARE THE SAME AS YOURS AS LONG AS YOU DON'T MENTION THAT.

and this:

STIPANOVICH: I would say to his supporters, I understand your anger. I understand your frustration. I understand your anxiety - INSERT MISCHARACTERIZATION AND STEREOTYPE HERE; TELL THEM TO EFF OFF

Edited to show what was in the "Phony Intellectual Handbook Guidelines To Sounding Above It All" before the specific topic was selected. Granted Trump gives them more ammo than just about anyone imaginable, but they are still phonies. Actually Hillary gives them more ammo than even Trump but they are not allowed to use the same tactics on her.

I'll do one:

Hillary tweet: The top 25 hedge fund managers make more than all of the kindergarten teachers in America combined. That's not acceptable.

Hillary tweet when filtered through the "Phony Intellectual Handbook Guidelines To Sounding Above It All" filter: I don't think Hillary supporters are fully informed on what she wants to do to our economic structure. Let's take her plan to dictate the incomes of people in the financial industry versus those in education. It is reminiscent of Mussolini's dictates with regard to economic output which helped divide the world in WW2. Given today's advanced weaponry, a repeat could lead to all out nuclear war and the death of every man woman and child on the planet.

you "doing one" is not analogous to a veteran dem strategist "doing one" or calling almost 1/2 his party's primary voters "fools".

So what? If people could think for themselves and read through a pile of crap with false premises, would they care from which party they came?

Obviously not for the Dems. They just want to hear happy things so they can feel good about themselves no matter how poorly the programs fare.

This is the bash Trump thread. Hillary's thread is a few below. Let's not cross the streams.

the remarkable thing about this commentator is that he is directly criticizing trump supporters who constitute a large portion of his party.

That was the whole point of my remark. I've made it a couple of times, and each time it's called bunk either by Trumpster Divers or SoProgs, but the bottom line is that over the long term, those who comprise the GOP and conservatives will benefit by this fight for principle. You can't argue that you are a constitutional conservative dedicated to small government, states' rights, limited spending, etc., and then try to convince any thinking human that Donald Trump fits that bill.

It would be like John McCain trying to sell himself on the Democratic ticket as a Democratic socialist, and then having Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann and every opinion show on MSNBC endorse McCain. People like you would schit your over-sized diapers. That is what is happening with Trump. He's a left-wing Democrat who has idiots like Coulter and Hannity and pretty much all of Fox News propping him up.

He's conning everyone, and I'm at least thankful that many strong voices are not falling for it and in fact are fighting back. Hell, it's not like Trump's chances vs. Hillary are better if the right unites. He's already toast. It's just a matter of waiting.

That head to head number keeps dropping and I'm as shocked by it as anyone.
