Just want to thank you for your stellar and tireless Sabres coverage, 26CornerBlitz. It is greatly appreciated.

Also, how great is Eichel with his "I'll wear 41 until I officially make the team,"' proclamation? What a well-grounded kid.

You're most welcome Chevy. It'll actually be fun again to follow the Sabres after a couple of dreadful seasons. Love Eichel's attitude!

The 2 most noticeable items from yesterday for me was that O'Reilly is not just solid in all aspects of the game, but good across the board: faceoffs, defensive zone coverage, backchecking, skating, passing, & shooting - he will earn his money;

and Reinhart is much bigger this year - he looked like a hockey player and not just a skinny kid.

Really liking the forwards this year. Larsson has gone from 1st line C to being the odd man out since the last time they all skated. I expect he'll work his way into a spot but not certain of it. McGinn, Foligno, & Deslauriers are the most likely to get bumped.

It also will be interesting to see if Colaiacovo, Donovan, or McCabe can bump Weber out of the top 6.

Barring injuries and/or subpar goaltending the team is a bubble team.

You're underrating Mcginn IMO. I see him as a 3rd line guy who won't kill you in the top 6 if he has to fill in for an injured player, not borderline roster fodder.

Could very well be. Was mainly including him in the borderline group due to the wonky back. Didn't look like his back was giving him any issues Friday. Hopefully he stays healthy.

To Dan Bylsma, Patrick Kaleta is still an enemy ... an enemy who's standing out in training camp http://www.buffalohockeybeat.com/sabres-dan-bylsma-trying-to-like-patrick-kaleta/

David Legwand knows he's "really old." He still thinks he can be an asset for the #Sabres, though. Story: http://www.buffalohockeybeat.com/david-legwand-happy-to-be-with-sabres/

As the Wild begins its exhibition schedule with five games in seven days Monday night against Jack Eichel and the Buffalo Sabres, fans at Xcel Energy Center will get their first look at 3-on-3 overtime.

No matter the score after three periods, the Wild and Sabres will give the new overtime format a try.

Looks like Larsson centering Deslauriers and Foligno tonight. So early on, it looks like battle for 12th forward is between Larsson & Legwand.

On Friday, Legwand was centering that 4th line and Larssons was centering Carrier & Baptiste. Varone centering Carrier & Bailey tonight.

4th line tonight will be some combo of Ellis-Dupuy-Kea-Karbacek.

According to a well connected person on SS (spndchz), the D pairings tonight will be

Guhle-Pysyk

Austin-Weber

McCabe-Franson.
