I have to think the Bills are among the teams who will be involved in trade down discussions with them and others.

If I'm Buffalo, and I'm looking to add picks, I'm on the phone with Denver letting them know I have no interest in taking Lynch--it prevents them from trying to get ahead of you.

@JoeBuscaglia

With the #Bills draft luncheon done, time for my newest mock draft. Goes 3 rounds. #Bills fans might like this one: https://t.co/6FOtU1Qzmr

19) **TRADE Titans2_1427903795017_15962948_ver1.0.gi (from BUF) - OT Taylor Decker, Ohio State

- After missing out on Lee, rather than forcing the pick of Reggie Ragland (who plays a similar game to Preston Brown), the Bills collect additional draft assets to get themselves quite possibly three impact players to the roster as early as this season. It also gives them the possibility to trade back into the first round all the same. The Titans moved up to add Taylor Decker, a player that they're rumored to really like.

Trade Details: Tennessee gets 19th overall, 117th overall. Buffalo gets 33rd overall, 45th overall.

33) Bills2_1427903793815_15962939_ver1.0.gif (from TEN) - DL Vernon Butler, Louisiana Tech

- The long wait is over for Bills fans, and this is where the fun gets started. This is the first of three second-round selections if the Bills were to pull off that deal with the Titans. To kick it off, the Bills are getting a player many believe can become a stud at the next level. Butler most closely gets compared to Muhammad Wilkerson, who rose to prominence under the tutelage of then New York Jets coach, and current Bills coach Rex Ryan. Butler has the size, length, strength, and athleticism that could turn him into a stud in the NFL. He'll have a bit of a learning curve due to who he played against in college, but if brought along the right way, Butler could be a formidable five-technique defensive end to add into the mix.

45) Bills2_1427903793815_15962939_ver1.0.gif (from LA via TEN) - LB/S Su'a Cravens, USC

- This is now the third time out of six, and the second in a row, that Cravens has found his way to the Bills in the second round of my mock draft, and general manager Doug Whaley just reinforced why the two sides could eventually be paired up. Whaley described Cravens as a potential four-down player, helping out on base packages, sub-packages, and on special teams -- and the Bills certainly have room for one of those. Is he a linebacker, or is he a safety? It doesn't matter in today's NFL, which need smaller, and faster players on the field most of the time. Cravens can cover, he possesses good instincts and reaction time to diagnose plays, and, he can help as an additional blitzer when called upon. Don't forget, the Bills had Cravens in for a visit, so the interest is there.

49) Bills2_1427903793815_15962939_ver1.0.gif - WR Sterling Shepard, Oklahoma

- Bills fans don't have to wait too much longer for the next selection, and now with two key defensive players on the roster already in Butler and Cravens, wide receiver becomes a need that they can go after. Sterling Shepard is an explosive athlete that wins as a route runner, and although a bit on the smaller side, he can step right into the fold and be a trusted slot receiver for a Bills team in need of an upgrade over Greg Salas. He also has ability as a returner on special teams, so the Bills would be getting a multi-faceted player in Shepard. The big question is this: can he be an outside receiver? Luckily for the Bills, they won't have to find that out unless Robert Woods leaves as an unrestricted free agent after the 2016 season.

80) Bills2_1427903793815_15962939_ver1.0.gif - QB Cardale Jones, Ohio State

- This pick stays consistent with the mock draft from last week. The Bills have an opportunity to select a quarterback and not feel pressure to put him in the starting lineup, or to even force him as the main backup in 2016. That, in itself, is a perfect situation for Cardale Jones. He gets to work with both offensive coordinator Greg Roman and quarterback coach David Lee, and they'll all see if this raw, 6-foot-5, 253-pound passer that has a cannon for an arm and runs like a deer, can put it all together, learn how to read defenses, and figure out his inaccuracy. On the positive side, the Bills don't have to wipe the slate clean too much with Jones because of a lack of time on the field. They're building from the ground up, and it could yield huge dividends. And hey, if it doesn't work, at least they took a big swing at finding a gem.

Geez this would fun !

And i can see Tenn wanting that lineman.

If I'm Buffalo, and I'm looking to add picks, I'm on the phone with Denver letting them know I have no interest in taking Lynch--it prevents them from trying to get ahead of you.

unless they do have interest?

I read today that Bills at 19 are actually in the sweet spot for trading up as true first round grades end at 20-25

.@buffalobills fans, you’re in need of a quality edge defender. Our two Andys project who #BillsMafia should draft: https://t.co/aFi3CHEbic

Bills’ Needs
By Andy Benoit

Buffalo’s defense took a step back last year. New head coach Rex Ryan departed from the straightforward 4-3 zone principles of previous defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz and employed his usual 3-4 pressure packages. Typically, his more complex amoeba approach suffices if you have to make up for so-so talent in the front seven and have corners and safeties who can cover. The Bills had the cover artists, but they also had enough pieces up front to prosper with a more basic scheme (like they did under Schwartz). While Ryan’s approach may not have made the most sense for 2015, it could for 2016. With Mario Williams now gone, the Bills have only one quality edge defender (Jerry Hughes). Their others, Jarius Wynn, Manny Lawson and Tony Steward, are rotational players. It’s on GM Doug Whaley to find a headliner for the rotation opposite Hughes. Whoever it is must be versatile. As Williams learned last season, Ryan will ask these players to do more than just rush the passer.

Bills’ Solutions

By Andy Staples

If the Bills are looking for an edge rusher at No. 19 who might also be able to occasionally drop into coverage, the logical options are Eastern Kentucky’s Noah Spence and Clemson’s Kevin Dodd. Neither ran a blazing 40-yard dash at the combine, but both are excellent rushers and fluid athletes who could handle the occasional change in assignment. Ryan’s son, Seth, plays at Clemson, so the coach knows all about Dodd. Meanwhile, the Bills have two picks in the fourth round that could be used to efficiently address needs. Missouri inside linebacker Kentrell Brothers was the best player on a good defense that had the misfortune of routinely dealing with horrible field position because of the Tigers’ offensive woes. He’ll make an NFL team very happy. The Bills also probably want to take a quarterback to sit behind—and possibly eventually take over for—Tyrod Taylor. Taylor will be a free agent after this season. This year, they can grab Stanford’s Kevin Hogan. All Hogan did in Palo Alto was win while playing in an offense that looks like most NFL offenses. He was recruited by a Stanford staff that included current Bills offensive coordinator Greg Roman, but Roman never got to work with Hogan on The Farm. Hogan’s throwing motion remains unorthodox, but that’s why he’s available here. If Hogan’s mechanics were perfect, we wouldn’t be arguing about whether Carson Wentz or Jared Goff should be the first quarterback taken in the draft.

Goals for every team in the 2016 NFL Draft and a 4-round mock for each team - http://walterfootball.com/draft2016goals.php

Buffalo Bills:
The Bills appear close to being a playoff team, but they need to shore up their front seven, which was a major issue last year. Mario Williams, Kyle Williams and Nigel Bradham were all major disappointments, and they all must be upgraded. Elsewhere, the Bills have to find a new No. 2 receiver.

Ideal 2016 NFL Draft (First Four Rounds):
19. Darron Lee, LB
49. Yannick Ngakoue, DE
80. Adolphus Washington, DT
117. Alex Collins, RB
139. Jalin Marshall, WR

19. Chris Jones DT

49. Noah Spence DE

80. Braxton Miller WR

117. Cardale Jones QB

139. Rashard Robinson CB

Now that's what I think would be ideal... B-)

On draft day, I'll put up a link to my Big Board spreadsheet that I'm putting together. That way, you can argue with me and tell me exactly why I'm an idiot and you hate me.

I'm aiming to have 230 names on it. Might even throw in half a dozen kickers/punters for a laugh.

Found some notes I thought I'd lost. The running total is 251 players plus any specialists I watch on Wednesday.

After the draft is over, I'll consider things like where my life has gone wrong and if I should start going outside and having new hobbies.

I was hoping Buffalo media would be on the call with Bills' draft questions, but the call was still very interesting.

19. Bills

McClain: Kevin Dodd, DE, Clemson.

Wilson: Eli Apple (pictured), CB, Ohio State.

Interesting...

I have to say the after watching a few film studies I'm leaning towards Dodd over Lawson...I still like them both...But this thing with Lawson not getting off the ball at the snap is really.mind boggling...If any of you have not watched it yet I highly recommend the RPS Film Room episode on Lawson...I thought at first one of the Scouts was just over exaggerating...But I saw it myself...And It's a bit alarming...

Oh and Apple? No way...If they did take Apple they should have Goodell say... "With the #19th Pick in the 2016 NFL Draft...The Buffalo Bills select Eli Apple, CB, from Ohio St because they don't think they can resign Gilmore..."
