Bill Polian's Grades for 2015 FA's

Recommended Posts

I think if they're a broadcaster first, than yeah, you're absolutely right. If they were a wildly successful personnel man and talent evaluator, as Polian was, for 30 years, than yeah, I would say his opinion is worth considering as valuable.

He bends over in the morning to tie his shoe, and accidentally farts out more football knowledge than you or I will ever know.

Ha, sure. But I also don't think the schedule he keeps...as a broadcaster...affords him the resources (time, mostly) necessary for him to stay at the top his/the game. Now, I don't mean to suggest that as a broadcaster he doesn't have enough time, but I do believe that because he's a broadcaster he has no interest taking the time.

Seriously?

I don't think the guy has done that, fart out football knowledge, in at least 15 years. He drafted Peyton Manning in Indy and rode him to all of 1 SB title. He couldn't build a team around Peyton Manning. That's says it all IMO.

I mean, I didn't want to get into the nuanced bit of it, because it's a bit less cut and dry. But I'd agree he hit his peak in Carolina and declined ever since.

I figured since he almost became our Football Czar these grades might make for some interesting discussion. If you want I can post the C's and C-'s but the C list is as long as the other lists combined.

B+

Mike Iupati, G, San Francisco

B

Bryan Bulaga, OT, Green Bay

Interesting that he only has 2 OLmen on his A-B list.

IMO this is a fairly deep FA for OLmen so I'm hoping we have a longer shopping list ready.

I'd like Lupati if Roman wants him since he should have the inside gouge on who he is, but I'm not so sure he's that far above some of the other FA.

He's a great run blocker but wasn't too good against the pass.

No Spiller? That will make him and his agent sad.

Yeah, a buddy got me a year subscription for my birthday "to help with my fantasy decisions" haha

Revis isn't an FA until the Pats* release him. And I left off the players who are tagged, and thus irrelevant

Thanks for sharing this info.

We have threads all the time about this or that draft pundit's notions on QB, LB, whoever. So I think Polian's views are just as relevant if not more.

Thank you for posting, and this isn't a shot at you, OP, but can we please stop pretending that Polian is relevant anymore?

I mean, I get it. But, he's a broadcaster now. He should be held in a esteem that reflects likewise.

I dunno, I feel like he gave a good enough disclaimer as to his reasons for posting the link. I like the post, even if it's just because it's not another thread about QBs
