Under Schwartz, the Bills' defense went from 10th in yards to 4th, but more importantly from 20th to 4th in points allowed. Despite a worse offense.

There are still DC openings left. But he may just want to take the money he's made from Detroit (likely when Rex let him out of his contract, the Bills were off-the-hook for the remainder) and sit out the season.

Teams want attacking style of defense, Marrone is all about conversative play calling and that is why he hired Jim.In games that our defense needed to make plays we failed and you can review the NE/SD/KC/Miami and Oakland games. If their was one play this past year that sums up how he calls a game it was against KC, we were trailing late with about 2 mins left in the game.On third & 5 we send a 3 man rush and Alex Smith has way too much time and ends up finding his TE for a first down. How do you let a rookie QB(Oakland) kick your ass in a game you need?

Didn't that same rookie QB beat KC in a game they needed?

Wow I really expected this to be a landing spot for Schwartz. They have a decent front 4 including Willie Young who he coached in Detroit and Stephen Paea, and he knows that division so well plus swept it this year.

@JasonLaCanfora: Vic Fangio has decided to join John Fox's staff in Chicago. Skins were very interested. Fangio made his decision today

There may be some truth in this.

But I think many losing teams would love to have the 4th ranked defense - a defense good enough to produce 9 wins when paired with an impotent offense.

As far as the Bills not being an attacking defense, didn't we lead the NFL in sacks? Weren't we also good at take-aways? I know what you're saying about the style of defense we played, but Schwartz produced the stats an attacking defense is supposed to produce.

Depending how much of our success you want to attribute to Schwartz, you would think there's a lot of accomplishments on his resume to make him an attractive candidate.
