Breaking down the Bills offense

Former Broncos QB Kyle Orton provided Buffalo with some stability under center, but will it be enough to snap the Bills' 14-season postseason drought?

Buffalo Bills OC Nathaniel Hackett says Sammy Watkins has to stop thinking so much

-e84094f4b980acb5.JPG

This wasn't supposed to happen to Sammy Watkins.

The Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver is different. The No. 4 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft wasn't expected to have the growing pains most rookies experience. And after he started the season the way he did - a 100-yard effort in his first game at Ralph Wilson Stadium and a game winning catch in Week 7 - the expectations only rose for Watkins.

It was strange, then, when Watkins had the November that he had. Oddly enough, the Bills' bye week has marked the start of the rookie's struggles. In the two games before the Bills' Week 9 bye week, Watkins had 12 catches for 279 yards and three touchdowns. In the four games since, he has 105 receiving yards total and no touchdowns.

The current Sunday weather forecast for the Mile High City, is Partly Cloudy with Temps in the low 50s with light winds. Looks like there will be no help from Mother Nature to contain Peyton Manning and the Bronco offense.

more importantly who are the officials.....sad we have to worry about it ...but the officials through out the league are the worst in my lifetime. Poor officials usually favors the better team

Dareus over Broncos passing on him in ’11

With the second pick in the 2011 NFL draft the Denver Broncos picked Von Miller. With the very next pick the Bills took Marcell Dareus. Buffalo’s Pro Bowl DT didn’t appreciate getting passed over by Denver or Carolina, who took Cam Newton first overall.

In an interview with Dareus not long after he was picked by Buffalo I asked him why he was so chapped about going third overall. This was his answer back in 2011.

Mario: It’s not like Manning hasn’t be sacked

The AFC Defensive Player of the Month has seen plenty of Peyton Manning before. Mario Williams has also been one of the few to sack the Denver quarterback more than a handful of times in his career. That’s why entering Sunday’s game, despite the fact that Manning gets the ball off in an average of 2.18 seconds per drop back he believes there will be opportunities to shake up the Broncos QB.

Broncos add kickoff specialist to roster

The Bills no longer have the only kickoff specialist in the NFL. The team they’re facing Sunday now has one as well.

The Broncos promoted K Brandon McManus to their 53-man roster from their practice squad Saturday. He’s expected to handle kickoffs while K Connor Barth handles their field goal attempts.
