Jim Irsay: story developing?

Jim Irsay was getting such great press over the past couple of years that it has apparently gone to his head. Before these scandalous revelations, remember how he tried to say that the Colts were somehow better without Peyton Manning? Back in the 1980s he was known as the owner's son who wanted to lift weights with the players, but was never thought of as such a great football mind. Peyton Manning made the Irsays look great, but the clay feet were always there.

He is out of control.

The players are going to be insulted by how little Goodell does, but in reality Goodell works for the owners. A little voluntary rehab should be all Irsay needs to do to atone in the league's eyes (assuming no criminal wrongdoing on this dead woman front).

I disagree. Image is everything to Goodell. He will come down hard on Irsay and make a point of setting an example of what is not acceptable as an owner of one of the franchises.

IMO, the turning point with the Colts/Irsay's reputation was the day he woke up and decided to fire the Polians. Bill Polian really kept him in check when he was there. At least to the public.

And that's the disappointing concept...that an owner needs a "handler" like Dez Bryant; meanwhile, these owners will vote on the future of the Buffalo Bills (including Irsay's vote). Edited by BringBackFergy
