Tebow is a first-round pick all of three years ago, the second quarterback taken in 2010, after Sam Bradford owner of the same number of playoff wins as Matt Ryan, winner of a postseason game more recently than Peyton Manning and just as recently as Drew Brees.

He was the quarterback of record when the Broncos went 7-4, took the AFC West and beat the Steelers in overtime. That happened to also be the only team in his four years since leaving college to design an offense to fit his strengths and minimize his weaknesses, which is all a coach is required to do and all a quarterback could ever ask for.

What exactly are Tebow's strengths as a QB?

Versatility - Tebow is listed at 6'3" and 236 pounds. He has the height of a prototypical quarterback and the bulk of a running back, a combination that very few players at either of those positions have.

Keeps opposing defenses off balance- there is an element of suspense whenever he lines up on offense. Is he going to throw? Is he going to run?

In 2011, when Tebow started 11 games for the Denver Broncos, he broke 22 tackles, which tied for the highest total among quarterbacks that year with Michael Vick. Only 14 starting running backs had more broken tackles than Tebow that year. He also ran for six touchdowns that year, on only 122 carries. He thrives on short-yardage carries where he can truck through defenders on the way to a first down or touchdown.

He doesn't get enough credit for his ability to keep drives alive by avoiding sacks and picking up first downs with his legs.

Football IQ - he knows how to win games down the stretch, and his decision to run or pass is more often than not the right one. While he sometimes makes atrocious decisions as to where to pass the ball, passing the ball is often the right decision when he chooses it. You don't make the playoffs with a quarterback that possesses a terrible football IQ.

Character- Exhibits rare character on and off the field. He's a fantastic leader of men. He has an outstanding work ethic. Tebow never complains, whether it was the lack of support from the Denver front office, the constant berating from analysts across the country, or the internet commenters who use his religious beliefs as a punch line for a tired joke, he takes it all in stride without so much as a dirty look.

Weakness - accuracy

Tebow plainly and simply sucks and that's why he's in the unemployment line with ZERO NFL teams interested in him as a QB. He's an over-hyped bum who has no place in the league. Goodbye and good riddance.

I have felt all along that TT should be a BB.

are you speaking to an empty chair? re: CE

The Bills need some wins. And since a number of TBD QB experts previously said that Tebow should be picked up because he "just wins" , we should get him. Who cares if he can't play QB at the NFL level.

mybe we should hire him as the mascot. since he wins just by being on the sideline.

During the playoff game that Denver lost to New England by 45-10, the New England defense (which wasn't a very good one ) was certainly kept off balance since they didn't care whether or not Tebow passed or ran lol.

I would have thought that the people on this board would remember the one game that Mr. Tebow started against the Bills. A mediocre Bills team with a subpar defense, playing out the string on the season, shut him down completely. All they had to do was hang back and let him (try) to throw the ball.

Stop - you're making too much sense and raining on the Tebow hate parade.

I'm absolutely with you. The guy is unconventional but he's simply good at football. He has been hugely successful wherever he has been at every level of football when given a chance to start.

People seem to have this absolutely visceral hatred toward him because 1) he's in the news a lot, 2) he talks about God a lot, 3) he looks funny when he throws, and 4) they don't like his legions of fans.

I get all that, but people should at least TRY to not let those factors influence what they think of him as a football player.

What do the 32 NFL teams think of him as a football player? We know the answer to that, now don't we?

Tell us how you really feel. LOL. The "over-hyped bum" comment is childish & pathetic, and it reflects poorly on you. Very poorly.
