Kate Upton Update (GQ cover shoot)

Recommended Posts

Dear God.

I gotta do a few laps around the office to calm down...

Think about the other aspects of Kate's life--

Great grandfather was a founder of Whirlpool

Uncle Fred is in Congress from MI

So a quick question for all you dads out there:

There are some very very revealing photos in this shoot. If Ms. Upton is your daughter (she's obviously doing quite well for herself these days), do you support her career by viewing these pics, giver her an atta-girl, may be even comment on how lovely she looks, or do you steer clear of anything and everything that might put you face to face with your little girl's nips?

I think you steer clear of the pics as a dad (it creeps me to think about my two daughters in the pics and it would creep them to have their dad look at them).

However you reinforce that if modeling is what she wants to do--if she is passionate about it--she should be the absolute best she can be. You also constantly do what a dad does -- offer her support and protection when she needs it, remind her to think about her own morals and standards when she does a shoot or film and remind her -that like it or not--other young girls will see her example and use it as a guide in their own decisions. In essence remind her of the public role she has chosen to take and the responsibilities. Is that too old fashioned?

I'm a good half decade from fatherhood (god willing), but it sounds like you nailed it. And the reason I thought of it in this case is because she's not doing Playboy, or any kind dirty porn mag, she's posing for GQ--about as reputable as it gets in the mainstream. BUT, it's also a bit more daughter than I'm sure most guys would want to see, thus the precarious situation...

And, as I mentioned, between SI and now GQ, she's definitely doing quite well, so I guess we could consider a problem we'd all be lucky to have!!

You thank the lord you were able to bone someone as hot as what her mom had to be to produce Kate.

Sure, but I'm not sure Kate's most valuable assets are something that are reliably genetic, more of a chance thing (if I had to guess). Is there scientific research on this? (I don't think I can safely input the necessary search terms here at work)

But to your point...If daughter is the image of mama in her prime, then who do you seen when the lights go out?
