I kinda like the more detailed take on the logos. But overall I like the effort and styling, its fun to see people experiment with this stuff as a designer. Bravo to whomever put this together. It gives them an actual mascot with their logo. Try as they might a dolphin still looks like a friendly dolphin, and nothing about a cardinal glaring at you is scary. You ever mess with a cardinal?!? Too much detail = a visually less powerful logo. From a distance the logo wouldn't stand out enough from the helmet. This designer clearly doesn't get that.
