I have never been this excited about the Bond franchise...D.Craig is perfect in that role. I ca't wait for this film.

Gatsby will be a DVD viewing for me most likely.

Thanks for posting, Mark.

I'm definitely seeing both in theaters. I'm a sucker for everything Gatsby. And, like aj and koolaid have pointed out, Daniel Craig is amazing as James Bond.

Casino royale and quantum of solace are done so well and Craig is awesome at being Bond. Can't wait to see skyfall.

I'm glad so many of you guys feel that way about D.Craig. I know a lot of people liked Brosnan, but to me that was the lowest point of the franchise regardless of how much money those films made. I love the way Bond has been re-invented and the more serious tone of these last few films...Craig is a "man's man", whereas Brosnan was just a pretty boy poser. I've seen Casino Royale about four times and enjoyed it each time. The Skyfall teaser looks great...I love the word association thing.

I hate timothy dalton as bond. View to a kill would have had more potential with a better Bond. I liked brosnan in goldeneye though.

Personally I am not a big fan of the James Bond series, I don't know why, just never got into it. I've only seen a few movie from this series, some I thought were good, some I thought were so-so.

I have not seen any of the movies featuring Craig, and from what I have heard from fans is that they do like the old school action approach that "Casino Royale" & "Quantum of Solace" have, yet they think that Craig is too much of a brute to be James Bond. Some fans view James Bond as suave and clever, not as a "tough guy". Yet I see from you, Koolaid, & Levi, that you like Craig in the role. I may just have to check out these recent Bond films.

View to a Kill didn't have Dalton...it was R.Moore.

Yeah, the Connery/Moore Bonds were very suave and there was always that need to suspend disbelief just a bit in order for them to carry out that Bond magic. Craig is more like Jason Bourne playing Bond, and although I really enjoyed the classic Bond films, I find I prefer the more badass style that Craig brings to the table. The older Bond films always had those "blue skies" endings where everyone could feel good about it when they left the theaters. I enjoyed that sort of thing as a kid, but as an adult I like it better when some films have the balls to avoid the blue skies endings. I like when the stakes are higher and the price the characters pay is greater. It's more realistic, and I think that's why I like DC as Bond.

The spy game is a deadly game. It's not all fun and games, and I feel the current Bond films reflect that better than some of the goofy story arcs that you had with Brosnan. In real life it's a life or death proposition to participate in espionage, and I like that that is more accurately represented now than it was before.

I am a very big Bond fan. Prior to Craig, my favorite Bond was Connery with just the right balance between suave-ness and manli-ness. But I have to admit, Craig is more in line with my current expectations of what a fictional superspy should be like. If you are going to try these latest two movies, I suggest watching Casino Royale first - one of my all time favorite movies even if you take my Bond bias out of the equation. I was less than impressed with QOS. Craig also admitted it was a weak effort and explained that it was written during the writer's strike and they wanted to push the movie through quickly which resulted in a hodge-podge script. Skyfall is supposed to return to the raw and edginess of CR so is worth looking forward to.

I think the current "Bond" writers did well in making this Bond a Bond who recently received his 00 Agent title (by producing Casino Royale), which helps to explain the less elegant approaches that the newer movies have taken. Craig as Bond is still clever, but has enough naïveté and is raw enough to use brute force over the "clever" route sometimes. "Casino Royale" and "Quantum of Solace" aren't getting "too cute," like I thought some of the Brosnan films were.

I didn't comment on the "suave" bit; check out the films yourself and you'll see that he's definitely suave.

I had to pause that Bond trailer and rewind a bit towards the end. That shot where some shadowy figure was walking away from a fire reminded me of a shot of the Joker from the Dark Knight.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to that one. I guess I'm going to have to refresh my memory a bit on where exactly things finished up in Quantum of Solace. Oh, and I'm glad it doesn't have a really confusing title like that movie did.

Personally I loved the Living Daylights and License to Kill.

Me too.

He was a pretty good Bond, just had a bad rap because of his appearance. He just looked like a criminal. After Golden Eye, Pierce didnt make a good Bond movie.

I hated Brosnan as Bond. Campy.

Daniel Craig is great as Bond. I think he, like many have said, gave the character some edge that it lost with PB. Craig is an animal and I love his Bond.

I am super excited for Gatsby, too. I loved that book and I saw the old Gatsby movie not too long ago and cannot wait to see this new one. I love Baz and Leo's Romeo and Juliet too, so I am hoping this is in similar fashion.

With all this movie talk, I just wanted to post a quick link to a trailer for the Hatfield's and McCoy's on History starting Sunday night I think. 3 day mini-series. It looks awesome. Bill Paxton and Kevin Costner among others in the cast.
