NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT!! Ah, I love when people use good old fashion practical effects over today's CGI garbage. Then you will love this. No CGI here. Now this is old school. Pollack was great in front of the camera too and of course Hoffman is one of the 2 or 3 best actors ever. They don't make 'em like Tootsie anymore. I've always loved the shot of the Orca leaving port as we get the foreground of the great white shark teeth encircling the Orca in the background. As for the scene you picked, what more can you say? With all of the raunchy/sex/grotesque comedies out there these days, comedies like Tootsie have practically gone the way of the dinosaurs. I'm not saying that movies like "The 40 Year Old Virgin", "There's Something About Mary", "American Pie" or "The Hangover" are not funny movies, but when was the last time you saw a comedy movie that relied more on dialogue for laughs? Blair Witch is the only movie that ever gave me anything resembling a nightmare. Unless you go back to War of the Gargantuas when I was six.
