New England Nightmares

I'm seeing Wes Welker, out of the slot, running a crossing pattern 10 yards deep over the middle. Please: can the football gods devise a defense for this? Stuff him on the line. Do something. You can't let him catch these passes.

Second nightmare. Brady to the tight-end over the middle for 25 yards. The Bills' have to stop these passes. Do we have a strong safety that can match up with their tight-end(s) ? It certainly wasn't Donte Whitner.

Stop the above, and one has a chance at winning the game.

1) see Jets at Patriots playoffs. Unless you're a believer in the divinity of Sexy Rexy (Puh-leeeeeze!), I would say the Jets showed the way.

What I think you're asking is if the Bills have the personnel to successfully execute an effective defense against this. That's TBD.

2) We WILL give up a bunch of yards to the Pats. We CAN win anyway. Keys to the game: Ball control on offense, Ball security on offense and special teams, Defense making the Pats pay for their yards on O.

I am more worried about how Ben Jarvis Ellis has punished our defense in the last 4 games. Actually Brady has had pretty average games against the Bills in the last few seasons. Even two years ago, if you take away that 14 points in the last 2 minutes thanks to Donte Whitner and McKelvin, Brady was pretty pedestrian.

Watch the edge speed this year. In the past all teams had to do was get outside the "box" and we had no speed to contain that type of run. I haven't seen too many of these types of runs turn out successful against us this year. Woodhead wont be running wild outside on us all day tomorrow . . . Not that it's a good thing to put the game in Brady's hands, but if we can get up by 10-14 points in the 2nd half, the Pat*s may be forced to give up on the run game altogether . . . Especially if Freddie and CJ can run on them . . . Then Merriman and Darius can go to work . . .

I don't believe we have the corners to cover the Pat's, or for that matter, anybody's receivers.

Leodis cannot cover his head, Drayton, I love to smell the, Flowers is not bad but does not have the speed.

Then you get to the third corner that will be covering Welker. We have a couple of rookies that have promise in Williams and Searcy, that should be playing in place of Leodis IMO, and Reggie, I can't play, Corner. IMO we don't stand a chance of shutting these guys down and if we did their TE's will kill us.

The only way to beat the Pat's is to put significant pressure on Brady and be physical on the receivers coming off the line. Neither is something the Bills do well.

Buffalo needs to pressure Brady the way the Saints pressured Cutler last week. If 12 doesn't feel pain, he'll make it miserable for us.

the number one need for this team far and away is pass rushers IMO. I keep reading draft discussion. Well this team needs to be engineered to beat the Pats. To do that you must harrass the **** out of Brady- see Giants Superbowl for blue print on how you beat the Pats

You realize that his last name is Florence not Flowers, right? Anyhow, Its going to rough against the patriots. The Bills wont stop them. It will be about which secondary can play 4 quarters, because it will be a shootout. Endurance is the key.
